The app requires you to scan a QR code. The project has no QR code on it. There is no workaround for this. There is no ability to add any projector information manually. This problem seems to have existed for over three years, and it appears that the developers have not bothered to make any changes.
Used to be good but crap now
Used to be a good app for ViewSonic projectors but now it’s horrible and doesn’t recognize QR codes to add the projectors to the app. The Chinese company offers no support for the app or the devices they sell. Best to steer clear of these China made garbage until they start offering better service.
No QR code avoid this App
Like many there is no QR code. This was a real let down. Plus the remote that come with the projector is not that optimal. Do better vire sonic 😒
0 stars. Won’t send verification code
Not only is the projector not working as a plug and play, this app won’t send the verification code so I can see if there is anything I can do by remote.
Basic remote
This remote on your phone only adjust the basics, volume, focus, input and main menu. When calibrating the menu is up in a bad position so adjustments must be made after removing menu. This makes calibration long and tedious. It would have been so easy for them to get full control of the projector. It would have sped up calibration by tenfold if not more. A calibration in the I SF mode normally takes an hour but we would take the better part of a day. They do have a ISF, so maybe sometime soon they will integrate auto CAL.
Why do I have to register?
App starts to a login/register screen.
It’s supposed to be a remote control app for a projector. Why on earth am I being asked to make an account?
Not about to do so given that 100% of the reviews for this app say that it doesn’t actually work after registration. This breakage tells me there is gratuitous phone home or cloud plumbing behavior that I do not want.
This thing should either auto-discover on the LAN or rendezvous via a QR code shown by the projector. No way should accounts or going out to the Internet be involved.
(Also your projector firmware needs a little TLC. Please step it up a bit.)
Can’t register
Fix your App viewsonic. We can’t even register to use something that probably doesn’t even work.
What QR code?!
Where the $&@“! Is the QR code we need to connect to my projector? How many projectors could Viewsonic possibly have? Why isn’t there a drop down list with the projectors on it so that I can choose mine ? Or why can’t I simply type mine in? This is the wrong application of a QR code. All I want to do is connect to my projector. I cry.
QR Code?
No QR code on my view sonic projector so I can’t connect it
Does not work
Terrible app. Same issue like other users where I registered but then it won’t let me go further than that
