Watch Tuner Lite

I was sceptical at first but, if you follow the direction to keep external noise minimal and take the case back off the watch using the mic from the iPhone earbuds I managed to get two stubborn mechanical watches to within 15secs p/day in just a few minutes. After a few weeks of trial and mainly error getting them regulated that is a result! Thank you.

It does take some fiddling... I was actually about to give this app a negative review but just before I did, I decided to read the instructions one more time. Rather than placing the mic on the crystal as some have said, the app instructions state that you should place the mic against the crown of the watch. As soon as I did that it worked! Awesome little app 🙌🏾

Nice app. Took a bit is experimenting- Use the headphone microphone as instructed and wrap the watch and mic in a cloth to improve results. Need to adjust sensitivity to suit your watch. Very useful for examining your mechanical watch and even allows you to easily check positional orientation accuracy

Really impressed with this! I used it with the Apple headphones and the case back off (as I was adjusting the watch this didn’t seem like a problem) i’ve never adjusted a watch before so this was pretty reckless on my part, but the watch really wasn’t worth taking to a watchmaker(A good looking but cheap Chinese homage) really glad I bought this. When I first tried to adjust the watch I got into all sorts of trouble (and of course had to wait a few hours to see what was going on) but with this I got it reliably running to about +5 seconds a day which is pretty amazing really.

Wasn’t expecting much for the price but very accurately measured my 2 watches (+1 sec/day and -10 secs per day), which is what they do in reality. And that was just me holding the iPhone mic against the glass watchface. Finding a quiet enough room is hardest, it’s amazing just how much noise from outside gets in the way, and just how noisy the birds are!!

Wow! Contrary to my expectations this actually works and works well. It takes a few minutes of mucking about to get the sensitivity and positioning of the mic right (I used a wooden table with the watch crystal sitting on top of the mic) but when it works it gives a very accurate reading. I knew my watch was off. This has told me exactly how fast it is per day and now I can adjust it with confidence. Saved me dropping over £100 on a dedicated timegrapher machine.

Won’t work with the case back on the watch, but works well once you have taken it off.

Been in a quiet room for about 1 hour using a microphone and app detects a 28800 bph watch as a 600 bph watch?

I bought a Citizen Seven Star V2 (1970) off eBay and it was losing 38 seconds a day. Used this app and have worn the watch today and it’s lost 1s. For a 48 year old watch this is COSC territory. So tonight I got my 1970 Seiko 5 from +12 seconds to -0.5 seconds. Well worth the money. Very, very happy with this app.
