Watch Tuner Timegrapher

Loved it. A great solution for hobby watch lovers who want to get their timepieces a bit more accurate, but without the cost of a full scale Timegrapher.

The app works very well, if you feed it quality sound it will give accurate results and the settings are finely tuneable. Getting quality sound to the app is a physics problem, not an app problem. I have only used the standard Apple wired earphones and it is consistently good, but you need a quiet space. I set up in a quiet room and put the watch and microphone section of the earphones under a pillow. This gives me reliable, repeatable results with the standard settings. I have used this set up with a movement out of the case and with movements that are still in the watch case. For cased movements I have just used sticky tape to hold the microphone on the case back. For un-cased movements, sitting the microphone very close is sufficient. For hobbyists that can’t justify the cost of a dedicated physical Timegrapher, this app is an excellent alternative at 1/10 the cost.

It crashes my iPhone X. The app itself works well and I was able to significantly improve the accuracy of my vintage Seiko 7002. The beat error was too high as I had suspected. Love the graph readout. But like I said, once I opened the app, had to restart my phone as I couldn’t shut it off. Running IOS 14.6, so should be compatible. Advice if I’m doing something wrong welcomed. Needs a bug fix here I think. Otherwise good product.

Tips: just use the wired earphone comes with iphone, which has a mic in the volume control stick. Wearing the watch on your wrist as normal, stick the mic between the watch and your wrist and you can change position easily by moving your arm.

I wanted to adjust my Seiko SKX009 so not worth buying a stand alone Timegrapher. I tried the Apple earpods but you had to be very very quiet, not really great but fortunately I had a pair of Bose QC20 and after getting the settings correct on the app it managed to work perfectly. Thank you for the app. 👍

I love it very accurate and convenient, I’m using this app instead of my dedicated Timegrapher, Ihave a update request, When looking though history can we have a option to share the record as a photo?

I was getting very frustrated with this app, then I tried using my Bose Quiet Comfort wired earbuds, which have a microphone you can precisely locate and which I suspect is a lot better quality than the one in the standard Apple earbuds. Suddenly, Wow! Readings perfectly consistent with ones done by observing over 24 hours, and showing how the watch runs in every position. Fantastic! If you’re getting frustrated, try a better mic. Probably doesn’t need Bose, just better.

It will never replace a professional time grapher but it is an excellent alternative for the cash poor watch tinkerer. I had been trying for months to correct two Asian 7750 movements and failing terribly. I finally lashed out and bought this app and corrected both watches in 25 minutes. Great for correcting beat error and accuracy. I strongly recommend you get yourself a good mic to use but it still works pretty well just with the iPhone mic.

Lift angle only in 1° steps, means many watches. Eg seiko divers can't always be accurately timed. Addendum- remedied in latest update. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could. Times vintage seikos and others with 0.5° lift angle variations now. Thanks

Just used this app to successfully regulate my watch from 1ms to .4ms of beat error and gaining 18 seconds per day to only 1! Intuitive, easy to use, adjust settings for sensitivity were helpful, especially after my kids got home from school and started making noise in the house. Used it iPhone headphones and it worked great!
