I’d give it five stars if the video feed didn’t cut out during commercial breaks.
I’ve always struggled to get WCCB reliably about 60 miles southeast of the transmitter. It comes in perfectly during the day, but at night the 10 PM news is unwatchable due to cochannel interference from WLFL in Raleigh. The FCC screwed over antenna viewers by forcing both WCCB and WLFL to move from UHF channel 27 to UHF channel 18. Hence the need for this streaming app to watch WCCB News at 10, which is arguably the best at reporting local happenings and human-interest stories, not always gloom and doom. This app removed the local ad breaks a few weeks ago, which may not mean much to most people, but it does if you’re attempting to replicate the real TV experience. Bahakel Communications is a great company with fewer stations in its portfolio than the larger conglomerates, so they invest more money in talent and personality, making WCCB the greatest choice for Charlotte news in this reviewer’s humble biased opinion.
