When I had this app some dude would txt me and ask what I was wearing on my legs over and over until I screenshot everything posted it so people would avoid him and blocked him stay safe out there plz
I used to love we belong. The app made me feel welcome; it was a safe space to ask questions about genders. Copying Instagram is what this app seems to be doing. It used to be a good place to meet people like you, but now it’s like if TikTok and Instagram had a demon child. I miss the old app. I miss it on android. I got an IPhone so I could keep talking with my friends and now the whole app is ruined. Official rating is a -10. Sorry, I thought this was going to be something safe, positive, and good, but it’s just reposts and famous people now and nobody meets anyone. My only friend on the app was the creator.
This was my favorite app in the world. Sad to see that it got nuked, no more community’s no more leaderboard. Nothing! No one is active anymore and it’s been like that for a year now. Hope it makes it return. I will keep it installed in hopes and dreams of it being reborn…
This app was amazing but now it’s just frustrating and annoying, I haven’t even been able to get in the app. I loved it it wasn’t over complicated and I made some awesome friends, but now that I’ve gone back to the app it’s just not as good as it use to. The app was to complex to even make an account, you can’t use email and with me not having my phone right now I had to use my moms phone to get in, and when I did I HAD to have my camera on, and when I enabled it and went back to the app it didn’t work, it kept crashing and kicking me out. I don’t want to use a phone number to make an account since that makes me uncomfortable and I won’t have that number forever, I prefer emails but unfortunately that wasn’t an option that I saw. I really loved this app and I went back to check if anything new happened but it’s downgraded :C I would report a bug but I can’t even get pass the loading screen. I hope you will fix the problem and hopefully let us use emails to create accounts 🥹🙏 and if there is an option to create an account with an email than I didn’t see one 😭 but yeah I hope the problem will be fixed so I can enjoy the app 😭
The app is pretty good but I have two complaints first I can’t put my age preference to 12 and I’m 13 now but when I was 12 it would’ve been nice to be able to have that age in my preference second the swipe thing disappeared so now it’s super hard to meet anyone
I love this app it is very helpful
I downloaded this app again after a while of not having it and I completely forgot my password I put. Now I can’t even get in the app.
This app is matching 11 year olds with 30 year olds. It’s absolutely absurd. When you set a preference of an age, it doesn’t try whatsoever to stay within that limit and matches you with anyone it wants. On top of that I’ve yet to see any privacy protection.
Overall, I would rate the weBelong app a 4/5. The app not only seems to be very inclusive, age appropriate, and diverse, but it is also functional, visually appealing, and easy to use. All of these traits add to the entertainment and newfound popularity of the app, especially among adolescents and teens. Furthermore, the design of the app makes it extremely easy to network by suggesting new users and communities to connect with based on shared interests, passions, and identity traits. The apps encouragement of diversity, inclusivity, and the discussion of mental health also allows for users to feel safe and supported when sharing experiences among this online community. WeBelong is also a unique social media app where likes and upvotes that other users have received are not visible. Since social media began to grow exponentially in the past decade, it is apparent that the ability to make comparisons to others based on the number of likes or followers that one possesses has promoted a lot of toxicity. More specifically, according to a study regarding adolescent social media use and mental health, more frequently than not, social media was found to heighten internalizing symptoms like loneliness, sadness, and depression, particularly when an adolescent has the perception that “he/she/they does not compare favorably to others as seen on social media or does not have the types of affiliations with others that he/she/they perceives on social media” (Barry et al., 2017). The weBelong app’s decision to remove visible likes and follows seems to actively prevent any type of comparison or competition from taking place; therefore promoting shameless self-expression and encouraging a focus on being oneself. In turn, I believe these focuses benefit mental health and allow users to feel a stronger sense of individuality and acceptance among various groups and communities. The only couple of drawbacks that I noticed after using the app were its tendency to lag severely when loading photos or videos or switching between pages and its lack of accessibility for users with disabilities. I believe that the overall quality of this app would be improved by fixing bugs that makes content lag and through the implementation of more settings that make the app more accessible to users with low vision, hearing impairments, or other disabilities. Overall, weBelong is a great app that does an outstanding job of promoting social networking among teens and adolescents without the influen
