Weight tracker - Vekt

I donated $5 or was it $10? to this developer years ago before he decided to do a subscription model and now I have to pay $18 or sign up for an ongoing subscription to use an app I already voluntarily paid for? I get it - why bother making the effort to take care of people whose money you already have when you’re focused bringing in new customers, but come on. p.s. The functionality is not worth $18 to me. I’ll find something else.

The app is a great simplistic weight tracker, but I do not plan to use it beyond the 1 year trial that I was offered for having already purchased the app. I think it would have been better to create a new version of the app than to force subscriptions on those that had purchased it already.

I paid for this app already when it was a paid app before the update and now I’m being forced to subscribe to be able to use it ? I already paid for it before this update. It’s ridiculous to make users that bought the app before the subscription update have to subscribe for something they already prepaid for. Horrible practices

no free option at all. free to download, but impossible to use until you commit to one of three subscription tiers.

The developer reached out to me and then promptly fixed the weight entry issue I was having after the latest app update. I’m impressed with the responsiveness and glad the app is back to being a very useful one for me

UPDATE: Thanks. It’s been a great app and I’m sure there are plenty of people who will benefit from the new features. I almost never do app subscriptions and look for apps with one-time payments, but understand you need to make a living and wish you the best. ___ It appears that Vekt now requires a subscription, but it’s not clear whether this applies to existing, long-term users. If I update to version 3, will I be able to continue using it as I always have without paying a subscription? Please clarify this. I’m a very casual and occasional user of Vekt, and if I can’t use v3 without a subscription, I’ll either not upgrade or just delete the app.

I used to love this app and used it every day, but the latest update has now forced users to sign up for a paid subscription. Had I known this was going to be a different app I would not have updated. I only use this to track my weight and appreciated the no-frills aspect, but with this new update I will not longer be using.

I’ve been using Vekt v2 for 4 months with no issues whatsoever. Until then, it was 5 stars. After updating to v3, it is stuck on the welcome screen no matter what I do. I’ve tried restarting the phone, deleting and reloading the app. Nothing has worked, even with v3.01. Have to give it 1 star until this is fixed.

I can’t get to the input screen. The subscription screen keeps popping up even though I already subscribed. Was able to input weight with my watch.

I loved this app. Version 3 comes out and now I have to agree to a ‘free’ trial that starts billing in one year. Don’t like that but whatever. Now I can’t get past the “Hey friend” splash screen that forces you to agree to the trail. It’s completely locked up. I can’t get past that screen. RIP version 2.
