Wevat Tax Refund

I’ve been trying to make the app work for more than two weeks and messaged the support and emailed multiple times. Unfortunately I am receiving no help. I would recommend using another app.

Tried to use this app but it is not accepting travel dates. I contacted them and got this response: Hi there, thanks for contacting us. We are experiencing some temporary issues causing the problem with generating form, that's why we cannot accept your invoices. In order to avoid missing out your refund, we would suggest you use the in-store tax refund service for purchases made from now on. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your understanding, we will inform you when we back to service as soon as possible!

The app cannot make the tax refund

Read about this app online and didn't realise there were plenty of similar alternatives. The app is quite buggy, e.g. it showed me an incorrect refund amount (based on the lower "express refund") percentage. Instructions on the website are also unclear, e.g. the website mentions that online shopping receipts should be forwarded when according to support they still need to be uploaded in the app. This would all be fine but unfortunately the support is very slow and arrogant - it took a day and 3 follow-ups from my side before they confirmed that the app is showing incorrect refund amounts, after initially assuming I misunderstood the refund percentages. Going forward I will be trying alternative apps (e.g. skiptax or zapptax), which seem to offer much faster refund timeline and lower fees.

Used this on my latest trip to Paris and the process was so smooth. Will definitely use it again when I’m back next month!

After some research on tax refund for shopping in Paris, I found out about Wevat. It’s so easy to use, there’s always a lovely person at the customer support chat option ready to assist with any question you may have and it does what it says - it gives you your tax back, hassle free and in a swift manner. Make sure to plan your trip in advance and (we)save with Wevat!

I love the concept - with slightly better rates than the major players and ability to online shop/smaller basket sizes. However, it took me 4 months to be paid with multiple interactions with customer support.

I got this for a trip to Paris. Had to go back and for the w customer support as they missed info on the receipts that I had already provided so this was extra stress. I have already had the refunds through the normal channels weeks ago for the other purchases I did but WeVat is quoting me end of Sept for the items I put through them. So only worth it when you have some sun Eur100 purchases you want to claim on, the rest is easier to do the normal way.

Thanks to Wevat I saved significantly on a special bag I bought myself on holiday. It was a really easy process from start to end - download the app, go through the steps and make sure your read all of their guidance before you actually go in the shop and pay for the product you’re planning to buy. From Uploading the invoice and then getting the refund back, it took around 2-3 days which is incredibly quick. You get two options - wait around 2-3 months for the full refund percentage or get a slightly reduced sum within 7 days which I went for. Thank you so much to the creators of this app!
