Missing a lot of information
App should have been a website. As a First Nations person I was curious. There is definitely much to be desired. Bare bare minimum information and my wife’s First Nation isn’t even on here.

This app is a great idea, but… I live in southwest New Brunswick, Canada, which I know is the territory of the Passamaquoddy, territory that extends into Maine, USA. The Passamaquoddy aren’t listed in this app. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are other inaccuracies.
I had hoped to click on this app, have it use my location, and then have it display whose traditional lands I live on. It did not do that, so I tried searching by my city name—still nothing. Lastly, I tried typing in the name of the traditional people whose land I think that I live on—still nothing. I deleted the app.
Couldn’t find sites in Alberta. When I quit the app and restarted it, I saw a map. Went to the region on the map, but the treaty link was broken. I couldn’t get any information out of this app.
I’m thankful to be able to learn about the aboriginal people. I’ve learned so much about them and their interesting cultures. I wish this information was around 30 + years ago and taught in schools. People need to know who we share this great land with and the importance of respecting them and their cultures. Keep up the wonderful work you have been doing with this app.
This is a highly effective way of reaching our generation.
Thank you for creating this. Incredibly useful. Visibility is important, and this app is an easy, effort-free way for people to realize there’s a whole other “map” and layers beyond their awareness. Wish this was an automatic app on every phone.
Thank you so much to the developers for creating this app! I am non-Indigenous but, as a performing artist, I always acknowledge the land and it’s first/rightful inhabitants at the start of every show I do. When I’m touring to a new location every night in a region far from my own this app is going to be so so helpful since it’s specifically for a mobile platform (as opposed to native-land.ca). Thank you!!! In a future update, would it be possible to provide some help for pronouncing the names of the traditional territories and nearby First Nations? This could really help people who are new to the region or just getting started with their learning and could help ensure they are respectful when connecting with folks from the local community or Friendship Centre.
