I downloaded this back when Wordle was surging in popularity, hoping to scratch that itch outside of just the daily puzzles Wordle offers - I don’t even use Wordle now, this app is my go-to! I’m currently trying to catch up on the weekly puzzles, but even when I’m cruising through a bunch of puzzles at once, I’m never at risk of running out of new ones to try. Love that there’s so much here to go through, real boredom killer!
Nice to have Wordle clone. Well made and customizable. Love the different theme customizations too!
Seemed dead at first but finally started working after about 10 tries. I like it now that it’s working.
Every other wordle type game I see is half-baked, but this one seems to have developers that are actually trying to make a good app. I absolutely love the personalization by the way.
I’ve tried pretty much every one of the 5-Letter word game clones out there, and Word Hero is definitely the best. It’s even better than the original game! Clean design, smart gameplay settings, and a very reasonable upgrade option. The developer is very responsive as well!
If you like playing Wordle, you’ll love Word Game Hero. You can play as many games a day as you want, you earn clues to help with really tough words, and you can even play six-letter words.
I like this game. Works like, and gives credit to Wordle but you have options: if you have time and want to play another, you can. Also can get tougher words and longer ones. Under $4 Canadian for all the options (no bells, whistles or music). Great customer support too.
Heavily inspired by Wordle, this has a nice interface and offers a one time fee to unlock unlimited puzzles (no subscription, which is nice). I also appreciate how in the “credits and inspiration” section the app developer thanks and links to both Lingo and Wordle, which is classy. Of the many current apps and sites offering a more than once a day, continuous Wordle like experience, this is the best I’ve tried.
Update 11/2023. There are major glitches in this game that continue to happen. I just opened it today knowing I was into a 5-letter streak of 65 and it is showing me a streak of 42. I have lost over 20 wins. It also can open with your penultimate move still there though you have already won the level, thus giving you a chance to re-win the same level again. Needs a deep dive into the coding. Plus you should be able to close the game without losing your progress. I love a good word puzzle and this is it! With the many different game scenarios and levels of play I’m never bored. It challenges you to remember and apply rules of spelling with logic. I also love that there’s a dictionary to give you the meaning of the word. Finally, when I ran across a ‘glitch’, I emailed the app developer and he’s already working on it. Thanks, Jake!
