Waste of time
This app is more worried about metrics than letting you get in and write. I searched the entire app and the Place it allowed me to actually write anything was in an obscure notes section. Garbage time waster

I’ve tried a number of tools to track my word count, and this one is by far my favorite. It’s easy to use, and it’s helping me improve my speed.
Once you finish your trial you will have to subscribe. You won’t be able to enter your account until you do that. I find it really silly to do this, the app is very outdated to begin with. It doesn’t give any sort of motivation to keep writing. It’s a simple app, but way too simple and so boring to look at. They should have made it as a paid app instead of a subscription base. It’s not really worth a lot for a subscription from the way it looks. I’d turn to something else.
Why make us set up an account before you reveal that subscription is the only option? Why not make the first step of the subscription be to set up an account?
Tried it. A subscription service for this app is absolutely ridiculous. Will never use it again.
I had gone on a hunt for something like this app, perusing articles and review sites to find what I wanted, but found that the apps people recommended were way too involved. I wanted something simple, clean, and easy-to-use. I wanted to be able to track my words and also have a goal in place so I could watch that progress bar fill up and get my little boost of endorphins. That’s it. What I found in this app was precisely what I needed, and I’ve used it ever since. I now have two projects in progress on the app and it keeps me happily churning forward with both. My critique partner (also an author) is using and loving it as well. Great app!
Updated review. Wordkeeper put forth the effort to make this right. They said the free trial was accidentally turned off. They have offered me two free years of Word keeper. I have upgraded my rating from one star to 4 stars for their customer service. I mistook the app to be a writing app, but I will try to understand the other features to see if they add value. Scrivener is more challenging to use, but it is a writing app for $20 one time charge for iPad and $50 for computer. This is $30 yearly or about $36 if you pay monthly. Again, I will explore the other features to see how much value they add. Original review: It says one week free trial, then it charges you immediately. DO NOT GO FOR THE YEARLY OPTION IF YOU DO NOT HAVE $30 in your account before the 7 day trial is up, because they will charge you immediately. I went for the $3 option. The 7 day free trial would’ve ended after I received my monthly income, but they CHARGED IMMEDIATELY. I wrote them and ask what was going on. They always have the option to reverse it immediately if it was a glitch. No explanation. Just said to talk to Apple if I wanted a refund. The problem is a refund takes a few days, and this morning the overdraft is already on my account. A few people in my writing group said the same happened to them. I have done free trials before subscription cost, and nobody has ever done this before. I have app subscriptions for 4 TV channels that offered free trials as well as writing app subscriptions. They have so little confidence in their product that they need to lure people in this way, or are they a company on the fritz and need every dime they can get.
Immediate paywall right when you open the app. I’m all for developers making money, but paywalls will make me delete the app every time. Disappointed. PS- there’s was no free trial option like the description mentions.
This app does exactly what you want it to do!! in fact, it will almost certainly exceed your expectations. I keep it on my home screen and use it basically every day. It’s like a little accountability partner you carry around in your pocket. Love it!!
I downloaded this app and it immediately wanted my email address for a free trial. They have a subscription model that they want me to pay for, but after spending half an hour searching the Internet, reviews, and the app itself, nowhere does it state what the subscription price is. Even after entering my email address into the app it does not tell me how much it's going to cost me if I want to keep using it. So over these bunk, manipulative subscription models. Stop trying to rip us off. I deleted my account and deleted the app immediately. Transparency = a feeling of honesty. Lack of transparency = looks like you're hiding something that you don't want me to know about. I'm not playing your ridiculous, manipulative sales games. Goodbye. Update: the developer responded by saying they made these changes to comply with user feedback. So in removing the requirement to create an account to take part in a free trial, they've found the only possible option is to completely remove any information about plan pricing? Ok......... That sounds like a really complicated dev problem to resolve, so I sat down and brainstormed solutions. I came up with one! Here it is: add a pricing page. lol
