Nothing works
Literally nothing works. I logged onto this today and the only posts that show up are the ones from July backward. Also, you can’t do anything with the posts, not one thing, or else there’s an error. You DEFINITELY can’t publish posts or pages, or upload images, or manage plugins, or edit the code, or anything. Useless.
I am actually curious, is this website still being monitored and updated? Or has WP just abandoned it and I’m late to hear about it?
Can't find the my local WP
So how find my localWP with this app, https://192.168.0.9:9889 . My WordPress website is fine, and WordPress android app can sign-in!
Wordpress
…………..
It’s ok
The app is ok. It can’t retrieve the latest version of your posts without pulling to refresh over and over and over again. You used to be able to see your site metrics but that got removed. Basically you can write with it.
Unreliable
The latest version has crippled my ability to answer comments on my blog
Pros and cons. I gave up. ✘
I tried to maintain both my Wordpress.com site and my self-hosted Wordpress(.org) site. Tedious. Plus, Wordpress.com sites are *very* slow to load! In the app, the “dashboard” and the editor are entirely awkward to reach and manipulate. Even simple Logout is difficult to find! All in all, not user-friendly. I prefer my self-hosted site by far and this app and Wordpress.com only “in a pinch”. I also prefer the *browser* interface by far over this app. Unacceptable.
Logging on is so complicated
Why does this app give the option to create a new account more accessible than logging onto an existing one? So frustrating. Unusable.
Zero communication with site, won’t save or publish any posts
This app refuses to save a draft or publish anything. All it does is freeze and make you force quit the app. When I try to publish my post via desktop, it’s like I never wrote anything in the first place. I’m having to write the same posts over and over again and I’m so sick of it
Links stopped working
Today another basic piece of functionality stopped working.
I cannot make a hyperlink. I put in the url, hit submit and... nothing.
When you get done deforming this once excellent blogging platform into a lame consumer CMS, and work through your massive scope-bloating backlog of gratuitous bells and whistles, can you debug your app and ensure that its core functionality still works?
Thank you.
If only I chose another platform 10 years ago
Choosing Wordpress to host my blog/website was the biggest mistake I’ve made online in the last decade. I have detested the format for several years now and it was a huge reason why I stopped uploading and didn’t renew my domain. However, it has somehow gotten worse. Now needing two apps to see notifications - unable to use the desktop version on my mobile device (the mobile version is so unbelievably user unfriendly it’s laughable) and the absolute worst part is the automatic formatting when posting a new blog post. WHY DID YOU EVER CREATE “BLOCKS” ?! If I wanted all of my poems and short stories to be double spaced and look like they were written by an 8th grader for an assignment, I’d make them that way myself. You cannot even “select all” to compress the spacing because you can only edit blocks individually. I write on my computer and send to myself or write in my notes app and then copy & paste. I have to go in after the fact and spend an unreasonable amount of time reformatting my post because you simply cannot do it beforehand. Now I can’t even edit it with HTML because it ALWAYS finds a way to go back to classic.
This app and website all together needs a complete makeover and I can only hope that there’s a way in the future I can keep the hundreds of posts I have on my blog while switching to something more time efficient, user friendly, with less bugs and app crashes, the list goes on. Until then I won’t hold my breath.
TLDR; if you don’t already have a Wordpress blog, run so far away from this platform. Look at the critical reviews and you will see an accurate rating for this atrocity of an app.
