Words – Vocabulary Game

Game Using Car Number Plates

Veröffentlicht von: William Dobbs

Beschreibung

Words is a fun and educational game in which players have to form words from sets of letters displayed, within a certain time.
The letters are all taken from car registration plates from around the world and words must be formed using the random letters shown, in the same order.
For example, the letters ‘T A’ appear, - a player can then say ‘TABLE’, ‘STAR’, ‘TAKE’, etc, and all of these responses would be correct. The word ‘ATTACK’ would not be correct, as the letter ‘A’ comes before the letter ‘T’.
Players can play individually or in competition mode against other players/teams.
One point is awarded per correct word. The other players count the number of correct words. The answers are recorded and can be played back, for example if a player thinks that the number of words he/she has said is not the same as what the other players counted. The recording can also be used if another player/team thinks that a word said by the person whose turn it is was incorrect, he/she can challenge and also look up the word in the on-board dictionary. Challenges can also be made during the game, to do this, the 'Challenge' button is pressed and the clock is stopped. If the challenge is upheld, the player who said the wrong word loses a point and the challenger wins a point. If the challenge is not upheld, the challenger loses one point and the player is awarded the point as if there had been no challenge.
At the end of each round, players can see which country the number plate comes from and can read some background information about cars and their registration plates and about motorised transport in general within that country.
There are 5 rounds per game and the winner is the person/team that has the highest number of correct words.

Words is a fun, challenging and educational game, it can become addictive and is great brain training!

We hope that you enjoy playing Words!
