Like other users have reported this app is used for harassment and bullying. What concerns me the most is how much nudity there is. There is no proper age regulation meaning there are minors on the app. Individuals are distributing their nudes and sex tapes for free or for sale. Additionally these pictures and videos are being stolen and shared on the app and off the app. For example, on discord and snapchat. I’ve heard of people being threatened with leaks. There is 100% illegal activity happening and I strongly urge for the app to be investigated by Apple and the appropriate authorities.

The racism on this app is absolutely disgusting and the moderation team does absolutely nothing about it! A post is currently still up in the US politics page saying they want to k*ll all white people and has even received praise. I reported the post multiple times for it to never be taken down. I even reported the post directly to the yikyak website and they never responded to me!

Before they let you just do location in your area or if your near the college like please bring that back

I joined it when I got into college hoping to just have some fun and talk with people. The censorship on this app is terrible. I got timed out for stating something completely harmless. People will attack you for your opinion if they disagree with you and it overall is just not something you want to even get yourself started with. A big problem with anonymous apps is that people are so willing to say whatever non-sensical thing that pops into their head. This place as a whole is an extremely toxic environment. I’d avoid it for your own sake.

Immensely disappointed with what this app had turned into. I am still appalled by the new update. An app I once enjoyed daily is still ruined…don’t know what they were thinking. only redownloaded to see if they actually realized that this update is historically one of the worst I have ever witnessed. Also, to see if they actually cared about catering to their users, but guess not… guess they’re just doing this for fun and not maintaining engagement .. if they were attempting to win the record for how fast to get a user to delete an app they won lol

Lots of removals of comments that don’t actually violate community guidelines, yikyak staff has heavy biases, and reinforce misinformation that they deem fit for their platform.

I posted on here about how guys have harassed me in the past and it got removed for “violating guardrails”. I didn’t use any swear words or write anything inappropriate. This app now disgusts me. I’ve been banned from posting for 12 hours and my comment was deleted. Whoever did this is morally corrupt

YikYak used to be good because you had anonymous local pages & you could speak to people around you. The news feed and topic discussions turned it very similar to twitter, except worse. I will not be using it, I think the creators lost their way pretty hard.

I have been using this app for a couple years while I’ve been completing my degree. Over the past few months they have introduced banner ads. You could report these ads and I did because these ads include car companies and I am not buying a second car. Today, Yik Yak rolled out full screen ads that you can’t report. When scrolling past an ad, it automatically paused my music. I would have reported the ad but this option was not given to me. Apps that push ads do not encourage me to buy more or download an app, it is a nuisance to the usability of the app. The app was subpar before the introduction of ads, and has only gotten worse.
