Frozen stuck
Can’t get started. We both downloaded the app and filled out forms. We’ve been stuck in one of the opening menus saying we need more info. Ask to email it. Never receive email. Press help button. Directed to help email. Send help email. No response. Waste of time. Thanks!
Class action lawsuit
This “app” and so called “chat” customer service is non existent when you have an issue but when you first sign up it’s all peaches and cream. I have called the “actual bank” they use. And to no avail. They won’t even talk to you, they just give you and email. I’m just about 1/2 mile convinced that this is a total scam. I put in for a transfer from our bank and the money is no where to be found. I have googled, called “Piedmont bank” which I believe is also a scam. And a guy answered that seem to just be sitting. Around on a cell phone assigned to “sound legit”. I see others have had similar issues where their money is gone and there is no one to speak with. Also NOW all of a sudden the app keeps kicking me out. Prior to this last transfer request 95% of everything SEEM to be working. I’m about to start first eith the better business bureau, and work my way up. It might be $400 little money to them but it’d big to us and it’s missing. Not to mention they have ALL of our personal info AND THEY HAVE GHOSTED US, and the two emails that came, 1 was an automatic response and the other was basically “go back to the app”. When I went back to the app they act if it they were surprised and didn’t understand the issue which clearly a BLIND person can look at the dates and amounts and see the MONEY IS NOT THERE. When you all get ready we can go and file a class action lawsuit because clearly this women owned business is a scam, ripoff, an attempt steal, and fraud people out of their hard earned money. Not to mention identity theft and fraud. ZERO WAY TO LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT THE APP

The Perfect Banking App
Like a lot of other reviewers, I was a member of Simple banking and relied heavily on it. Once it was bought out and closed I couldn’t find anything even close. When I finally discovered Zeta I was extremely excited even though it didn’t quite have everything Simple did. The most important thing it had/has is an amazing and responsive development and customer service team. The team is always looking for feedback and always adding new features. With the upcoming ability to split transactions Zeta will officially have everything Simple had AND more. I have nothing, but praise for Zeta and am a huge fan of it.
This bank has potential but the app is riddled with bugs.
This app demos well but the developers don’t make sure it works beyond the happy path. Can’t connect more than one credit card from the same bank. Cannot do things like assign a bill payment from the past to a bill budget. Cannot have two separate bills from the same institution. There are so many uses cases like this make it practically unusable for anyone who’s serious about using it for budgeting.
Zeta: make the app run smoother and improve performance, make all your current features work beyond the toyish demos, and don’t bother shipping new features until it does. Hire more QAs and hire a better product owner.
Poor Customer Service
They told me to verify my identity… so I did two weeks ago two different times. It’s still asking me to verify my identity and I’ve emailed them countless times. Waste of time.
Has been great for us!
My husband and I both have adhd and we absolutely loved the bank simple with the virtual envelopes we were sad when that bank closed. We have found we love Zeta even more than the other bank! Can’t wait to see what new features come out next.

FINALLY a light at the end of the Simple search tunnel
It’s been a long time waiting and searching for a replacement for Simple Bank. I’ve made my wife suffer through three other fintech banks in the past with promises of envelope budgeting but none have felt right.
Then I found Zeta. I decided to try them based on reviews, features, and reading about how they started and why. They began with the goal of teaching families and helping them understand about money and budgeting. So I decided to download the app and try them out.
So far my experience has been great. The UI is simple and clean. They have a calendar which shows upcoming bills or payments (which I love), they use an envelope style budgeting system which always shows you your “Safe to Spend”. I’m eager to try out the included tax filing. They have a decent APY. Mobile check deposits and more.
Support is chat online only however, the response times have been faster than any other fintech bank. Less than 2-3 hrs so far and follow up questions have been faster. This is what I like about Zeta. It feels like the people here really care about what the have set out to do and want to support your family to be better with your finances.
Now, they don’t check off all the boxes yet…no early direct deposit, no desktop access, need a better more customizable way to visualize spend and track categories, and the app needs get just a little bit faster in response.
Also, you need to know that unless you use direct deposit and sign up for “Plus”, which is a small monthly or yearly cost, you don’t get all the features. However, I don’t mind paying for something that works for me and supporting a company that has a clear vision of where they want to go and who they want to be.
Here’s hoping more Simple folks and every Family goes to their website and reads their About Us page. Then download the app and see for yourself. I did it and I hope this is finally the end of my 3.5 year search of the best Bank + Budgeting app.
Nearly Perfect
I've been a member of Zeta Joint Account since it was the former Zeta Money Manager app in 2021, and my wife and I opened our accounts. Before discovering Zeta, I dealt with traditional banks and eventually switched to online banking with CapitalOne, which was okay but not exceptional. Zeta stands out by offering essential banking features that I believe all banks should provide. The bill reserve feature is fantastic, and the goals feature has made saving for larger expenses much easier. Flex bills, especially for expenses like semiannual car insurance payments, have been particularly helpful. Despite carrying a credit balance, Zeta has significantly improved my money management skills and helped me work towards reducing debt.
However, there have been a few issues. Zeta does not provide checkbooks, so payments by check must be mailed in advance, which can take up to ten business days. This caused complications with our rent payments, although fortunately, our landlord accepts cash as an alternative.
On the homepage, the Coming Up section is sometimes inaccurate on the income side. For instance, during tax season when we received a state refund, Zeta mistakenly treated it as a recurring paycheck. It would be beneficial to have the ability to edit or remove inaccurate items from this section.
A useful feature is the ability to manually change transaction vendor names (e.g., from "FUEL #1488" to "AllPoint ATM"). However, it's a bit cumbersome since you have to do this for each transaction individually. It would be more convenient if there were an option to rename all transactions from a particular vendor at once.
In terms of app performance, it can be a bit choppy and behaves similarly to a web app, which is ironic considering Zeta lacks a web presence. Enhancing the app's smoothness and introducing dedicated experiences for web, macOS, and iPadOS would be beneficial. Additionally, a customizable security timeout would improve usability, as the app currently prompts for reauthentication more frequently than I find necessary.
Overall, Zeta has been a positive experience for managing finances, with some areas for improvement in functionality and performance. Their support team is unparalleled in my experience—swift and incredibly helpful in resolving issues.
