ZRX: Zombies Run + Marvel Move

I remember using this app when it just came out many years ago. It was a lot of fun then but the team have really refined it and it’s truly a delight to use alongside a run (or walk) of any distance! The effort of the developers, voice actors, writers, researchers, and everyone else involved needs to be applauded. The attention to detail and quality of the mission designs is impeccable. If you’re looking for something to inspire your running or simply need a fun addition to your pre-existing fitness routine, this is one of the best options out there! Special shoutout to Marvel Move, in particular the X-Men stories!!!

Since I started using Zombies.Run during lockdown, my speed and stamina have increased dramatically. The stories keep you interested and running for longer, while the chases help with motivation. Makes long winding runs through quiet woodland suddenly a lot creepier! Brilliant!

38 and never been much of a runner. Thought I’d try this as it’s something different and it’s a game changer. Within 10 weeks I went from struggling to get through 2.5km without stopping to running 10km non stop in under 1 hour. The training plans are great. The stories are exciting with the incentive to run a bit faster from the zoms which helps improve your times and the addition of a little town build game play is a nice touch. You can have music playing throughout too as the stories continue on and off during the run. Happy Runner 5!

I bought this app about 8 years ago and it has consistently been the best app I have. Keeps me fit and I fell in love with every character!

Absolutely gutted I did all that hard work for the app to not even save my running stats, it was my first one and I was excited to see how i went, only for the app to not save my run :( The app froze, and when i went back on it there is no record of it anywhere Features of the app are great but what’s the point if I can’t view my results?

Wrote this review seven years ago….amazingly they still haven’t added watch support. What is the point of a running app that has no Apple Watch support? Such a great idea, and it does work well on the phone, but the point of a cellular watch is that you don’t take your phone on a run.

And still love using it today. The cast are excellent, the main story is brilliant and all the extra training run themes and stories are fun. Thank you and keep it going!

I attempted to try the app, but the sound files associated with a run all begin with deeply irritating adverts which are distracting. Additionally the experience I downloaded had an introduction speech which was not needed, and so again: irritating and distracting. After the speech finished and the actual content was supposed to play, the app froze. I closed the player and pressed ‘resume run’: and another advert began playing! So I’ve no idea what the app content is like as the UI is appalling and apparently designed to make it difficult for non-paying trial users to access the content. Baffling.

So it didn’t go so well for the last runner 5. Sure they wrote on this wall as well… well, it’s me now. So stoked with this app. Actually motivated and keen for a lil adventure gallop. I like to look out for landmarks and try correlate them to the story. Once i was running through an allotment as a detour, while hearing i’m searching a hospital. Then i’m in a chase trying to speed up down little narrow alleys in between garden patches. Learnt from my mistake.. but it’s great and looking forward to a weekend run to explore the neighbourhood more. And doing mini supply runs for shorter distances. Thanks developers ;)
