12min: Book Summaries & Ideas

If you set not to give them your data with an iOS new feature you’ll just won’t be able to proceed after login. Why summaries need your data that bad - good question for me

I signed up a little while ago - will not unsubscribe me despite several requests.

I was looking forward to looking at this app as I use Blinkist ( free daily section) so thought this might be a good alternative but … I downloaded the app but when I went to sign in it wouldn’t accept my google account or my apple account so I decided to try signing in with email and password but it kept saying I’d not filled it in properly and each time it said that my email address disappeared so I don’t know if they are a bit suspect or what but I’m deleting and I’d be interested to know if anyone else has had this problem! Also help pages are in Spanish ( I think) so that is of no help to an English speaking person …

Apple Watch app does not connect to the iPhone app. I contacted customer service who told me the watch app doesn’t work and is still under development. Dishonest to post screenshots of the watch app on the store + promote its functionality when it doesn’t work/isn’t ready. Main reason for Apple Watch is to listen to content while exercising - I cannot do this without my phone with current functionality. Disappointing.

Love the concept and the summaries. But the app crashes multiple times during a reading and you have to restart, find the book you were reading and select. At least it remembers where you were up to. Improve the stability for a 5 rating.

I read a review on this app and, having been a Blinkist subscriber, was very interested. I bought a lifetime subscription through a third-party and had problems redeeming the purchase code. I emailed the developer and they corrected the problem within hours. That’s excellent customer service when you consider that I didn’t purchase directly through them. The app is well designed and a pleasure to use. The summaries are well done and the readers do a great job. My only small gripe is that there is no landscape mode on the iPad app. However, that’s not really an issue as I mostly listen to the books, and usually while walking to work.

I always seemed to have an excuse as to why I could not find time to read widely; not enough free time, what if I spend a lot of money on a single book and then don’t like it, I’ve wasted my money. What books should I read..... Now with 12. Minutes a single subscription for less than a 2 books means I can read broadly and get a wide exposure to so many new concepts. Makes learning interesting and fun. If I take away only a few gems from every 12 minute book, mission accomplished. In my opinion this is an awesome tool when used appropriately. It’s like triage for knowledge. I would love the 12 minute guys to also cover current (emerging daily) and even historic news events and moments in history to help in our broad background understanding of news and current events when the books haven’t been written yet. Wonderful tool.

12 Min does a great job of capturing the essence of each book and gives value to take and put into action in only 12 minutes. This isn’t just a book review or a chapter taken from the book. I highly recommend.

Happy to change my review later but at this stage I have paid for a subscription for an app that does not work. It says the code I have is already in use which is frustrating. No easy way to solve issues either.

I kept thinking whether to go for this app or is it just another app that I’ll download and won’t use it like most apps I have. Subscribed without expectations and hesitation. But can’t believe how intuitive it is to just keep listening book summaries one after another. In fact I now am thinking why didn’t I download the app earlier. Looks like I found a free time activity that will help me enjoy and learn at the same time. What better use of my free time can be. I’m happy. And hence thought to write review about the app. App itself is well designed and Works well. I’m sure significant efforts must have gone to build it and maintain all quality content on it.
