Brought this in a bundle other two apps work fine, the Beethoven app is in my purchase history from 2014, but its missing from the App Store history to download again. So I download the free version and tried to restore it won’t 

App worked fine in 2014, no idea why the other two  from the bundle worked, but not the Beethoven.

The apps is good and enjoyable, but I shouldn’t be prompted to pay again. notice the developer name is different . So not sure what as happened.

This is the Mercedes Benz of iPad apps.  A beautifully constructed app by Deutsche Grammophon that truly utilises the power of synchronisation and screen layout to augment and enhance one’s understanding of the music.  Very well designed app that has intuitive controls and great content.  I rarely buy apps, but this purchase was well worth it.

Wow.

This is the most effective music teaching tool I have ever seen.

It combines and synchronises:

* 4 real performance recordings in parallel
* 3 views of real time score, including auto-condensing mode
* music theory descriptions that follow the music
* responsive colour coded navigation strip
* colour coded visual scheme of seating arrangement

making for a very detailed, real-time, visual representation of the work.

The “engine” behind this app opens up amazing possibilities for music analysis and general education.

I can’t imagine the amount of work that went into this app, yet there is also further untapped potential.

This is amazing value: 4 great recordings plus two types of score and a facsimile of the original score that was used for the World premiere of the piece.
I love the video recordings and found the essays really interesting too.
Could we have some more please: Stravinsky’s ‘Rite of Spring’ would be amazing if treated under this kind of microscope.
Messiaen’s ‘Quartet for the end if time’ or Bach’s ‘Brandenburg Concertos’ also come to mind.  The interplay between the soloists and the concertante would really come out in an app like this.

The app is quite good but huge in size. Will probably take up more storage than all your other apps put together. The app downloaded without trouble but updates are a real problem.

I have only used the app on the iPad, and on this device it is brilliant. It has taken my enjoyment and understanding of Beethoven’s 9th to a new level. The technology works beautifully - both the real-time score and the commentary - and the recordings sound great. Please can we have the other symphonies, and maybe the piano sonatas… and then perhaps some Mahler?

Very good when just viewed on the iPad, but even after buying the 'full' experience, when streaming the video version of the Bernstein performance over Apple TV you can either stream the video or the music but not both at the same time! You can use mirroring to get sound and audio but this isn't the same as being able to stream full sized video. Pity because this distracts from the experience of a fascinating app.

Would be 5 stars except for one irritating flaw - no matter what I do the 'Insight' videos can't seem to be expanded to fill the screen.  The video of Bernstein conducting the 9th does fill the screen so I don't know why the other ones don't.  But apart from that it is a great app.  Four versions of the 9th plus commentary and history for £9.99 is actually good value.  The ability to follow the score is great, especially for choral singers learning the piece.

This app is awesome!  The interaction makes learning much easier than just reading a book and the real time score playback makes score analysis a dream come true.

I sure hope Touch Press will release all major classical works in this format.   And although £9.99 is easily justified by the amount and quality of the content, I hope the price of future releases may be a touch lower.  

Very much recommended to all music lovers, students, musicians and beginners alike.
