A Mortician's Tale is a story-driven death positive video game where you play as a mortician tasked with running a funeral home. Take on the role of recent funeral direction graduate Charlie as she learns the ropes of the business and industry. Prepare the bodies of the deceased (via embalming or cremation), attend their funerals and listen to their loved ones' stories, and interact with Charlie's coworkers, clients, and bosses.
A Mortician's Tale is an informative, honest, and sometimes humorous look at the current state of and the future of the western death industry.

Great!
I very liked it, it opened my eyes to things I never thought or even heard before. Visuals tough minimalistic are neat, music is perfectly backgroundish. It would be five stars but few things spoiled the fun :
- too short, one would like to play more :)
- too limiting, for the whole time I wanted to either do procedure on my own, or make my own decisions story wise, but I never were allowed too
- trocar usage was unintuitive, it has to be held a bit too long, causing confusion when x does not want to disappear.
Disappointing
Guys,
I fired the game up like 15 minutes ago and...that’s it? Game over? 4, 5 services (almost alike) and the game is done? Are you kidding? Or maybe I played a demo version?? I must say, I never experienced anything like that.
The description was so promising, and I chose your game out of hundreds out there thinking „wow! Now, that’s something different finally”. I was quite excited to see how the narrative will lead me, how my character will evolve, and her relationships with other characters. Unfortunately all I got is few email exchanges with some (I don’t know who she was) girl who does, I’m not sure what about some irrelevant stuff, few emails from a herse driver asking me out for drinks and all that with some cliche business transition from a family business to corporation style via hostile takeover. And then the game ended.
WHAT THE HELL WAS ALL THIS?? A joke? Guys, seriously, I’m sure you put a lot of effort in this, but how could you send it off like that? Whoever decided at KOTAKU to give you the award must have droped some serious meth....makes no sense at all..
Good sides:
The game looks very nice, has nice, mellow music and tons of potential completly unutilised. I liked the graphics and the emails with different burial traditions. Mechanics are simple, body preparations as well, although again, unutilised potential. Other than that...eh....it’s the most unfinished game I ever played. Sorry.
