ABUS SmartX

Just changed to iPhone and the app just keeps crashing as I went to get my bike u locked. Had to hide the battery and walk as in a rush and now late. Will have re-download app and start again but not even sure I can as bike is locked I a basement with little reception. Not happy and about to be charged for missing a class I’m now late for stupid app and clunky lock

I’ve been using the app without problems for over a year but this Christmas I received a new iPhone. The app transferred across ok so today I cycled 15 miles and went to lock up my bike. The app kept crashing as soon as I launched it. Eventually I decided the only option was to reinstall it. That fixed the crashes but it lost my registration and asked me to rescan the QR code card which was at home. Thankfully I knew where it was and phoned my wife to ask her to text me a photo of the QR code. I then had to open this on my Apple Watch and scan with my phone. Finally, after 40 minutes I was able to lock up my bike again!

I like the concept but the big issue is that I find when I’m in the garage it produces a notification on my phone (and then watch) to say it’s connected every 30s or so. When you’re trying to do something else the endless buzzing drives me crazy. Also had the problem that I’ve locked it and then Bluetooth connects from the bedroom. No idea if it’s unlocked it, still locked etc. It just needs more obvious ability for the user to tweak its functions. Eg time out after connection and options force lock unlock rather than automatic. It maybe does this but the documentation as ever is unclear. Tried to find link to get in touch with the developers. directly but doesn’t seem to be one. Update to previous review: Now, for months, the app doesn’t work on my iPhone. Clearly an iOS update has broken it and no one has update the app. I’ve written to Abus twice about my paperweight with no response. Steer clear of the lock and the app would be my advice.

Funktioniert einfach nicht reibungslos. Mir Klingeln nach 60min die Ohren. Zurück zum guten alten bügelschloss.

Das Bügelschloss ohne Schlüssel 🔑 mußte ich schon einmal aufflexen, die App wurde leider nicht gemeinsam mit dem Schloss 🔐 Upgrade. Fazit: keine Updates ohne Schloss, sonst muß die Flex her!

Das erste Popup in der App ist, dass man die Abus One App laden soll. Wäre schön, wenn das direkt im Titel stünde und vielleicht sogar in den Screenshots.

Kernfunktion ist vorhanden aber UI würde ich nicht intuitiv nennen. Fordert mich auf ein software update zu machen, dies schlägt aber fehl.

Auch nach dem letzten Update kann ich die App nicht öffnen, damit ist das Schloss schon wochenlang nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Bei dem Preis habe ich mir mehr von dem SmartX erhofft. Wann wird die Störung behoben?

Seit dem Update muss ich jedes Mal die App öffnen um das Schloss zu entsperren. Das ist sehr schade, so ist das Schloss nur bedingt verwendbar.
