Not helpful
I installed AirMap to aid me in following the current rules to fly my <250g drone (not subject to CARs). I’m a newbie. I’m studying for my sRPA basic certification, even though it’s not required to fly my drone. I’m doing that to protect the hobby and myself — knowledge is power.
And this app does not help me in this regard. I can look up rules and regulations. But I can’t find information on what this app displays.
I already understand the regulations regarding airports, heliports, controlled airspace, etc., but nowhere could I find a “legend” of what the map was showing me — which is a lot more than those I mentioned. Red and orange—got it. But, there’s more. For example, dotted circles coloured in purple, and areas blocked in coloured blue, etc.
The FAQ page is blank. I tried every icon — no help. Went to the website. No help there.
And looking at the other reviews, I’m definitely uninstalling this app. I don't need to support a political agenda of a private company that works against the interests of hobbyists who want to fly safely and intelligently.
So, bye.

Nice app
Decentralized app with lots of information; deleting for their policy, frankly against hobbyist. Ridiculous.
Why?
Read that they are encouraging the US government to tax pilots and drone users for take off and landing. Only a matter of time before they encourage the Canadian government. Deleting app to support drone users everywhere. Until then, goodbye for now!
Terrible App - They don’t help drone pilots
They are suggesting is their Twitter feed that governments could create new revenue streams through taxation, take-off and landing fees for drone flights to support UTM services such as AirMap. Talk about shady!
Decent app - dreadful POV
This is an app that can be very helpful to drone operators. However, the developers have some questionable views about drone activity and taxation. Not a good idea to encourage them by installing this app.
Horrible Business Ethics
Why would you use an app from a company that does not support the drone industry? The very suggestion to tax take off and landings of drone flights only proves that AirMap is out to pad their bottom line and NOT support the evolution of this technology. I feted my app, and am actively communicating to my peers and the industry to do the exact same! Disgusted.
Crazy Company
Deleted this app due to suggestions of taxation and take off fees, do not support these guys. App also misses a lot of restricted airspace in Canada so beware.
Avoid and Delete.....
Stop, and Delete and never look back.
They want to charge fees for taking off and landing!!!!!
Disappointed in recent policy
They’re recent policy promoting fees for certain operations have caused me to remove the app from my devices.
