#1. A Certain Beginning
I shall call this APP ART.
And I hope you enjoy it as art.
Because your story, to me, is art itself.
I am more curious
about how you feel in the clothes you wear
than about the clothes themselves,
and about why they bring you so much joy
I am more intrigued
by the thoughts you had while gazing
at a landscape during your travels
than by the view itself.
I care less about the food you ate and more
about who you shared it with,
whether the conversation was delightful,
and whether it made you fall
even more in love with that person.
I wonder about the thoughts
that cross your mind
on your commute home,
the fleeting ones that may have no use,
but are too precious to let go,
the ones you wish to hold onto forever.
I am curious about you.
So curious about you.
And, above all,
about what you are thinking right now.
"Right now, …what’s on your mind?"
A shared monologue.
Better yet, in the oldest fashion

#2. Behind the Scenes
Later.
The thing I desired most was always
pushed to later.
Sometimes, I even thought,
“Perhaps in my next life.”
Even though I had no idea if I’d get one,
and no say in the matter if I did.
March 2021 was no different. As always,
what I desired most was buried
in uncertainty,
while what I desired second-most seemed
safe and predictable.
So, as if it were natural,
I shoved the thing I wanted most
behind the veil of later
and reached out for the comfort
of the second-best.
But then, some voice deep within me,
a voice that could no longer bear it,
cried out: “When exactly is later?!”
And, “This is maddeningly frustrating!”
It wasn’t just a “next life”
that might never come.
Later was an imaginary time
that might never arrive.
I feared that if I kept putting off
the thing I wanted most,
I’d end up trying
to comfort myself on my deathbed with
the thought of “maybe in my next life.”
No.
I couldn’t let that happen.
It had to be now.
Yes, I could live solely in the [now].
And so, I chose
to embrace uncertainty wholeheartedly,
for the sake of what I had been
most curious about and loved
for the longest time.
Sincerity may sometimes invite
ridicule and suspicion, but in the end,
it resonates with other sincere hearts.
This is the deeply personal story
of how airWrite came to be.
