Altimeter uses the GPS chip to determine altitude. To save battery, the chip is only used when the app is displayed on your iPhone, your iPad or Apple Watch. No background activity. Your position is not recorded.
Note
The accuracy depends on the reception of the GPS satellites. Reception is limited indoors.
Continuous use of the GPS can significantly shorten the battery life.

No more Apple Watch 3 compatibility
Due to automatic update on my « recent » iPhone, v4.0 needs WatchOs 10.0 for Watch. So, altimeter is uninstalled from my Apple Watch 3, where I usually use this very simple and sufficient Application. How to reinstall Altimeter v3.0 on IOS 17, in order to retrieve this App on my Watch ? Thanks for your help

Ça fait maintenant quelques années que j’utilise la même app pour avoir l’altitude sur l’iPhone et l’Apple Watch et elle est parfaite : très simple et semble bien intégré à iOS. I've been using the same app for a few years now to get the altitude on the iPhone and Apple Watch and it's perfect: very simple and seems well integrated with iOS.
Very good ans simple app
But it doesn't work anymore since watchOS 7 on Watch 4. 😢

Einfache Bedienung, schönes Design. Exakte Angaben. Uneingeschränkte Funktionen und trotzdem gratis.

Apple Ultra 2 und iPhone 13 pro, gleicher Standort und genau gleiche Position und dennoch eine Abweichung von bis zu 10 m. Habe mehrere Messungen, auch an verschiedenen Standorten gemacht. Immer grosse Abweichungen!
Geniale App
Macht genau das was sie tun soll mit schlichtem, übersichtlichem Design. Keine Werbung, kene versteckten Käufe, kein heimliches Daten Erfassen. Lediglich ein Button mit den man den Entwickler unterstützen kann. Was man in solch einem Fall wirklich erwägen sollte. Hatte schon lange nicht mehr so Freude an einer App!
