Simple But Compelling
Gather ingredients (材料) and complete recipes (ルシピ) to make sweets (お菓子を作る) and sell them in your shop! This is a simple, but thought out game. You can discover more recipes through trial-and-error if you can't read the Japanese recipe hints. There are several ways of cooking sweets: drinks (飲み物), the ingredients' original flavour (ほぼそのまま), baking (焼く), frying (揚げる), using rice paste or pudding techniques (モチプル), and cooling (冷やす). You gather ingredients from the farm, where you have to keep the animals happy by giving them one food item you collected from the field. Come to think of it, I haven't tried feeding the hen its own eggs. The animals get angry if you leave them alone for too long. They still produce milk, cream and eggs. If you make them happy, and keep them happy, you get more and more out of them. After level 500 of happiness, they start giving you golden eggs and high-quality items. With the money you make in the shop, you go into town, and buy ingredients that you can't get from your farm at the time, or upgrades for your shop. Special, high-quality, expensive ingredients appear in the city shop after you unlock them by finding a new recipe, and producing more of that item. Not all items you make in the shop unlock these special ingredients. All in all, it is quite enjoyable. If you know enough Japanese, the item descriptions, and the hints are quite funny and insightful. This looks quite simple, but a lot of thought has gone into it.
