ARP ODYSSEi

AUv3, please!

По звукодемкам весьма понравился этот ретро ржавый индастриал характер звучания, вот и купил. При кручении сначала расстроило уши факт, что звук тонковато—плосковатый и без щелчка атаки. (можно списать, что так и должно быть в оригинале). Интерфейс оригинала тоже своеобразный, надо привыкнуть. Неудобно выставить точную позицию слайдеров (это бесит для ручек высоты тона осцилляторов) — отпускаешь палец — и он частенько немного сбивается. Странноватые LP-фильтры ii и iii - резонанс у них начинает влиять уже ближе к самому концу положения, и с ним звук становится тише гораздо(но это можно легко компенсировать рядом крутилкой drive). А с фильтром i все ок. Но это так, придирки. Чем больше им пользуюсь, тем больше кайфую (еще бы, за такие то деньги 💰 ). — Охренительный настраеваемый(до 16 ячеек нот, октав,гейтов) арпеджиратор (по совместительству можно юзать как источник модуляций). Если захотите скорость более 1/32 - отключите синхронизацию! Сам звук чистый, благородный, фильтры красиво насвистывают. Высокие прозрачные. Ну как... когда слушаешь тот же сымплированный Syntronic - в сравнении с ним этот арп вроде кажется плоским мыльцом, но в итоге выодит, что тот малость не живой(реакция на питч-бэнд, быстрые переборы нот и тд), а этот прям живущий организм со своей гребаной магией. Ну а фигли, Корги хвастались, что моделировали физические процессы каждого компонента) оригинала. Унисон до 8 голосов — классный — суперпильные лиды и жирные басы на ура выходят. Но это уже чит, нифига не ретро звучание ) Эффекты — овердрайв(3 вида) — хорус/флэнжер, ревер(hall,plate,room) и дилей(темп на left и right отдельно) — на все случаи жизни. В Korg gadget миксе тонко и изыскано прорезает аранж из гаджетовских более прямолинейных синтов. Классические старые звуки легко получить — чиптюновые переливы, насвистывания, переливающиеся соло, колючие sync—лиды и многое другое.

Very nice recreation of classic and famous synth. I bought it with all expansions. Sounds great and looks real. Waiting for AU extension for all KORG IOS Synts. Thanks!

this is one of the best synths on iPad. Incredible sounds and easy to program. So thick and lush.

I love everything about this instrument except for one huge (IMO) flaw, that being the lack of AUV3 support. That really needs to be fixed.

The ARP Odyssey was my first synth, back in 1978. As someone who had the original hardware, and used it for many years, I can report that this thing sounds great. All the switches and sliders do what they’re supposed to, and the bits that KORG added (effects & sequencer) are fabulous. But there are some serious problems, which I have requested fixes for, and have never been addressed. #1: the EQUAL/ANALOG switch. This has no business being there at all; all the ANALOG setting does is simulate an out-of-calibration Odyssey. This is not “the unique character of the Odyssey”, it’s a flaw, which I spent considerable $$ to keep in adjustment while I had my Odyssey. In itself, this is not a problem; I just leave that switch on EQUAL. But that switch does not exist in the Lexington gadget, and it is locked into the ANALOG mode, with the result that any 2-oscillator sounds are progressively more out of tune the further you get from the center of the keyboard. #2: NO MIDI Program change capability. #3 NO AUv3 capability. If this stuff ever gets fixed, I’ll change my rating to 5 stars immediately. In the meantime I’ll try to make do. It still sounds fantastic… UPDATE 4/3/2024: We just got the AUv3 update for Korg’s iM1, which is fantastic, and I am hopeful the ARP ODYSSEi will also get this update soon. Also hopefully my other issues mentioned above will be fixed. In the meantime, the ARP ODYSSEi is still a brilliant recreation of my all-time favorite synthesizer; I’m looking forward to using it much more, both within Gadget, and as an AUv3. Thanks, Korg!!!

Love the sound of the ARP ODYSSEi with it’s faithful re-creation of the ARP SEQUENCER but it’s high time KORG gives this beauty AUv3 support so we can plug it into a real DAW.
