Ying Kee Hong’s Auction on 2 Apr
This has been a most nightmarish and most awful experience for me participating in this Ying Kee Hong’s auction of antiques facilitated by Atasbid. I submitted 5 bids for 5 separate antique and jade pieces. At the auction closing time of 6pm, I was acknowledged as the Winning bidder for 4 items after I had successfully outbidded the others. All my prices have exceeded the reserve prices. I was so happy and was prepared to make payments. To my surprise, Atasbid just happily triggered an extension of the auction closing time without any advanced notice. One of my winning item was extended by 1.5 hours, another by 2.5 hours and another two by a further 4.5 hours. No surprises then that at the time of writing, I was eventually outbidded for 2 items during this unannounced extension period. There is an utter lack of integrity in Atasbid’s system. And this shall be the last time I will ever take part in any auctions conducted by Atasbid.
