This app and it’s ridiculous protocols are so illogical and clunky. No reason there needs to be an intermediate app with the direct to iPhone connection. I have to log my hearing aid out completely to use the connection at all. I think this will be sitting in the box until Med-El gets it figured out. For now it’s just a pile of feces with the current software. Wish I could rate it less than 1 star.
My Amazon $50 over ear headphones works so much better than this device which costs $659. I am in the process of returning Audio link because of static ness, scratching noises, and cutting out frequently. When I reached out to medel, they basically said that the Audiolink needs to be in perfect conditions (upright position, away from electrical interference like microwaves). I was hoping to use this like a regular Bluetooth headphone and it does not work like that. If you lose cellphone service, you cannot access the app. Therefore, you cannot stream music to your processor which I think is a big issue if you are going to pay this much for a device. Also, I have the Sonnet Cochlear Implant. Overall, not worth the hassle.
The app is pretty good most of the time. It gets a bit choppy depending on where the AudioLink is in relation to your phone. I prefer to carry my phone in my back pocket and that can degrade sound quality. My biggest peeve is that the app requires me to log in every time I use it. If I don’t have a good internet signal I am unable to log in or use the app. No bueno.
Great program EXCEPT ... if out of Wi Fi range, you’re out of luck. ... can’t use it. 2nd... why does an implant user have to log on at all? This should be between my phone and my Med El gadgets.
Only function is to make media streaming available, AND requires model log in every time to use. As a blind person trying to use this, it is unnecessarily difficult. Every other Bluetooth device automatically streams media without needing a separate app AND login each time for use. Please change the audio link so it doesn’t need this!
Overall the quality is great although at some times the sound gets choppy. Another problem is that the the AudioKey range is small which makes the sound cut out and make static sometimes. Please fix the Bluetooth range. Also please fix the boot up screen. I don’t want to have to login every time. It is great overall but they really need to fix the audio playback and the connectivity/range.
This app has a single button to turn on or off streaming from your device to your MED-EL audio link and then to your cochlear implant processor. It is insane that when you are connected by Bluetooth it does not automatically stream (like every other thing in the world). But what is most annoying is that you have to re-login to MED-EL EVERY TIME you use it!!! MANUALLY!!! There is no facial recognition or finger print recognition. MED-EL is technologically in the dark ages, and it is VERY inconvenient. Update: I used the app for a few minutes this morning then turned off streaming. Like every other app, I left it running in the background rather than completely closing it down. By 6pm my phone battery was drained! I never drain my battery!! 80% of the usage was this app...doing nothing!!! Further Update: I went camping this week. No cell. So no Audio2Ear (you need to login via data to use it)......I’m speechless!!!! One small mercy is that IOS 13.5 now allows the phone to remember passwords....if you have cell data service.
