Fun to use, lots of names

This is my favourite baby names app.

I read about this app in an article and downloaded it, but quickly deleted it because their name origin and meanings were so poor. It gave the origin of Charlotte as Germanic when most sites dub it as a French name, and they don't mention that it is a feminization of the name Charles, simply saying it means "manly" which obviously isn't correct since it is a feminization! My name has several possible origins and they only listed one.

Overall like the variety of names to choose from. The data and complementary name suggestions really sold me as well as being able to do this with my partner. Where this app completely fails is this forced separation of girl/boy names and always having to toggle. It’s really annoying. And there’s no way to search unisex names. Lose the forced gender separation for 5 stars.

I have used this app for years to help name my kiddos, but I recently updated it and noticed that they have included political affiliation in the name statistics. This is absolutely ridiculous and will only serve to increase division and “otherness” as well as people judging children solely based on their name.
