Overdue update to good BG app. Strong bot and easy to use UI. My only complaints are that the computer seems to immediately double after you do or when he is behind and there is no tutor associated with the doubling cube, also when you save a game it reverts back to before you saved it, it is a shame these issues are not cleared up as the app store needs more strong BG apps.

Win every game in a row and then lose every game in a row. How does that work? It’s got to have a self limiting algorhythm at play. Which, at the end of the day, makes playing meaningless.

Great Backgammon game, just challenging enough.

Quite a good app, but not very clever with the doubler: counts pips rather than number of moves to clear.

I play BG Gold a lot when travelling. It's a good game and the computer's game strategy is quite strong. Non-pretentious in appearance and easy to handle. A couple of drawbacks: 1) Computer strategy opening moves Some quite strange opening moves: 61 doesn't make the bar point and 31 doesn't always make the 5-point in the home bar. But 53 always makes the 3-point. 2) Playing opponents There just aren't enough. Sometimes you don't get a player at all despite waiting for minutes. So, not bad but some significant downs.

One star is a star too many for this rubbish. Save your money. Ridiculously contrived dice rolls. Way too many doubles. And connectivity is poor. App drops and you lose games and pints because of it.

Not sure if the dice are totally random, but I can live with that, so only 4 stars for that reason

Best one out there. Having said that, I don't like the amount of bias towards the computer, even at a lower level, it's too much and too predictable with them.......

As soon as the computer offers you to double the scores, there is not much you can do from there onward, the computer will always win.

Because we are still playing this thankless game even though we know the expert level is rigged. Maybe the developers could take pity on us simple folk and write a piece of code that doesn't require manipulated dice to beat us. Or is that too much of a challenge.
