I PASSED THE NEW YORK BAR EXAM THE FIRST TIME AS A FOREIGN LAW STUDENT!! I am from England, and I have an LLM degree from a North Carolina law school. While I was there I heard a lot about various providers (a lot of advertising from Barbri and Kaplan). I decided to postpone taking the bar exam for a few years due to other commitments, and when I finally decided I was ready to take it, I did not know which provider to go for. I found out that a girl from my UK University had passed the California bar exam and so I asked her which provider she studied with. She told me BarMax! I had never heard of them before, but she had nothing but good things to say! I decided to look into them and realised they were the perfect course for me! Not only were they one of the cheapest providers, but unlike the other providers, their materials are accessible forever (this actually worked out in my favour when COVID-19 broke out and the bar exam had to limit their pool of eligible applicants, meaning I had to wait another year to sit the exam than I had originally planned)! BarMax's materials were extremely comprenhensive. From taking a 2-3 year gap between law school and the bar, I had forgotten a lot of things, and from being foreigner a lot of the subjects were subjects I had never taken a class in, in neither the US or the UK (etc secured transactions), but Barmax explained things in a very simple way and made it easy to understand! When I did have questions, I always used the chat feature and would get very clear responses! The tutors really do care about our success and want to help us as much as they can! I also found the access to past questions extremely useful (I'd recommend using these as much as possible), along with the essay/MPT feedback (although I didn't submit as many practice questions as I probably should have!!)! Furthermore, the study calendar which I used closer to the exam really helped keep me on track! I fully recommend BarMax to anyone thinking about taking the bar exam!!

The Barmax MBE questions are the real deal taken from previous exams. However, the critical component is the well explained answers in simple lucid language that so enhances the understanding of regularly tested areas!

I am an international student and Barmax helped me pass first time. Their course is smaller than others I looked at but it's because they teach you what you need to know rather than overload you with information. Great way to learn. I’m a foreign trained lawyer from the Dominican Republic with an LLM degree from St. Mary’s School of Law, passed the Texas Bar on my first try thanks in big part to Bar Max. Bar Max gives you the right amount of digestible information to pass the bar. The live sessions and their recordings were crucial in the final 3 weeks of study in helping me remember and organize the countless rules in my head. Thank you Bar Max!

I still use the outlines as a touch point for black letter law or, for example remembering what the defenses to contract formation are vs excuses from performance etc.

This is a good, inexpensive refresher course if you have had the bar exam before and/or already had a bar prep course. I absolutely do not recommend it as a first time taker. Some of these outlines are a mess, the questions are really hit or miss, and the answers and response you get from some of the staff is even worse. Their practice questions aren’t even close in depth to MBE items. Again, it’s not a bad course if you just need to review for a second license etc. But I would not try to lean into this solely out of the gate.

I was upset I did not pass my first time. I decided to go all out and give myself a chance to succeed. I really want this and I still have to write my essays but so far I am enjoying the lectures and multiple choice questions so far! I enjoy studying from my phone and really happy Mehran created an affordable program for people who want to pass. I am looking forward to putting in the work and letting others know about BarMax so we can help others who need a voice. For me, I truly do want to change the world for the better. This has been years in the making but I am not giving up! I am writing this at 1:11 am to the sound of neighbors that I don’t want to be living around. I swear that failure is not an option for February 2024! I’m going to do my MBEs nonstop right now and essays during the day nonstop. I AM A LAWYER NOW!!!!!

Just bought the Bar Review Course to do the New York Bar Exam in July 2024. The Course is structured to ensure that you’re successful. You are guaranteed to get out the program what you put in. All you require is discipline and stamina.

The misrepresentation that you have access to this app for life has been shown to be a lie from my experience. Testmax used frivolous reasons such as usage from different ip addresses falsely to prevent my use of the app. Caveat Emptor. This is likely to end in court.
