No eighth note swing. Frustrating.
I love how it works with my MIDI drums, I love how I can change the sound for each pad, I love how I can import my own sounds, I love how it connects to garageband. I even love how you can fine tune the sounds of each drum (individual reverb/delay, the tone and the ADSR etc) and much more. I love that I you can save your kit too once you've customised.
For the money this app is IMHO one of the best music making apps out there (£1.00 at the time I purchased it). It’s simple to use, you can import from audioshare, it has midi in and out! you can assign different midi note numbers to the pads, It syncs up perfectly via Ableton link (more than can be said for some apps claiming Ableton Link sync). When I say it syncs perfectly I mean it, I’ve done extensive sync testing on many different platforms including iOS, this app locks up to tempo and start time solid as a rock. I haven’t bothered testing midi clock sync yet. You have all the major MPC functions included, the swing sounds great, pad to pitch, pad to levels, pattern chaining to write your song, ADSR, filter (not great but what what do expect for £1.00!) And! you can use it as a sample player triggered via midi from your DAW/Sequencer of choice, route it through AUM and your laughing. Or, trigger external samplers via midi and just use Beat-Machine as a sequencer. The developer deserves to be in the App dev hall of fame! For this app AND his other fantastic free one Jam-Synth!!!! I bought Beat-Machine primarily to support the dev for Jam-Synth, it turns out to be worth way more than his asking price and IMHO beats hands down the other so called MPC apps. Why? It functions exactly as it says, timing is solid, perfect sync, midi!! and it’s compatible with your other apps. Give me solid functionality over bells and whistles any day. I am not affiliated with the developer in any way, I’m just trying help you and him out.
Fiddly and not exactly good for flow. An example being, which many apps are guilty of...changing kits or voices and the roundabout ridiculous ways Developers dream up to do this. Instead of a preview or instant switch to desired kit, Diode has a system whereby it takes 5 taps to swap pages and choose kit and load... "Yes", of course I want to ferkin load! Only to find that it's not the right kit and you have to go through the process again. Very annoying. However, a decent drum kit with good seamless export and connectivity.
Nice 24bit Samples drum machine
Hi guys, the latest update has thrown a couple if bugs into the system. 1. When selecting a new pattern the default pattern remains. 2. The different time signatures cannot be selected, it only seems to allow a 4/4 pattern.
Classic drum sample player
Very pleased with this app
So it wants to access mikes and you get feedback. What the @#$& ever. Then you restart the app and get no sound at all. This app is a hoax.
Have to use the rest to know this is the best.
