Bento: The Do Less To-Do List

Well I thought this was a good idea at first but apart from a visual update a year ago nothing happened. There is still a lot missing for this app to really work with me, so for everyone that likes a very static, very manual app, give it a try. Everyone else should rather give this one a pass.

the conceptual metaphor is nice and works. the approach (I wouldn't call it a method yet) works, at least for me. and I can see it working for others too. does that warrant the current price? I am not convinced. no way to save a pool of current task outside of Bentos; just one musical background – what if you don't like it? (for my taste it's too corny); the backgrounds are sometimes sketchy (boats floating backwards, candles jumping nervously in Zen-pools...) and very much on the comic-side of things (that is not the conceptual space of concentration) – in stark contrast to the neo-classical music... I think it could be on a good path. but it's still on it's way, it seems to me. hope it finds its route.

The bento method is great for being productive! The design is overwhelming, I love it! The only thing that bothers me is that there are no push notifications when a timer is finished, I cannot be bothered to constantly think about the time remaining for my task. Please fix this, then the app will be perfect 😃

Realy good App with the right approach in my opinion that you‘ve created. What I'm missing are two things: - a task archive with the optional list function to create my bentos - an iPad optimization. That would be very helpfull. Best regards from Germany.

I love this app and the methodology. The graphics are great, the idea is awesome and I thoroughly enjoy it. The problem is that it runs in the background constantly for absolutely no reason, so it’s using way more battery than it should be, and there’s no option to toggle background app refresh or any other settings because notifications on or off. I want to keep it and use it but I want my phone to have a normal amount of battery, as of now I haven’t decided but I’ll probably have to delete it unless an update is pushed through that fixes this issue.

This app is not as special as the photos and descriptions say. Look into the app "Time wave" instead.

Sad to see this app abandoned. I purchased knowing that fact, but I’d still like to see the team come back for some updates. So much potential. 🍱🍱🍱

The bento method did not help me. It was confusing and simply didn’t work for me. The app functionality is not as fun as appeared in the photos, and it is too basic.

I just am getting started with it. We are able to have up to 7 boxes, which is nice. I would like to be able to save “discarded” boxes because they are workflows I repeat weekly or monthly. It would be nice to retrieve a small set of related boxes, like my own templates, to save remaking them as I need to shuffle for space for other things. I do see I can modify the couple of templates it comes with. The point in part is to reduce brain clutter. I get it. A few more templates? Well, I’m working on it 🤣 It’s a clean, really pleasant experience that works without glitches. Mind clearing into realistic expectations. Thank you. Thanks! 😊
