Great app

Please 🙏 add association with .txt files. It would be great to open .txt files directly from the native “Files app”.

Simple. Free. Recommended.

I needed a simple md editor/viewer to see some md files on my OneDrive account. I didn’t need anything elaborate or pricey. I don’t use it enough to justify spending a large amount. This fits the bill. If you want something with a ton of features that gets updates, go to one of the paid options. This is good enough.

Cannot open or create file under google drive

Even after I made it offline available. Files are grey and creating file resulting errors.

Great App

Love the app. I’m trying to purchase it, but the purchase page is taking too long to come back up, lol. Maybe if I could just go to settings and just pay for it (hopefully that’s not something I’ve just overlooked). UPDATE: Found it, lol. Some sort of double bracket ( eg. [[file name]] ) support would be excellent. Especially one that auto suggests as you type (like Obsidian). I’m pretty much looking for a way to access my Obsidian vault on an iPad and work with it more or less the same as I do on the computer. Oh, maybe a toggle option too, so I can collapse certain sections if I don’t want to look at them while I’m working on a different part of the writing. Anyway, love the app.

Truly perfect!

Markdown is truly remarkable to write documents. The fact that the developer includes LaTeX support simply puts it above any of the popular offerings (yes, I’m talking about Bear). This app simply gets the job done with a single purchase. That’s how it’s done. Why would I pay a monthly fee? Great job!

Note for Google Drive users

Initially I had some problems editing markdown files created in Google Drive. After some experimentation, I found I needed to open the Drive app first and mark the files as “available offline,” then this app could open them.

Could Edit Files

I was able to solve the problem when I upgraded my iPad to the beta release of iPad OS. So far it feels about right for my intent but will have more feedback after I’ve gotten more use. ———————— Original Review ———————— It can create files and it saves them with a “.md” extension. It can even save to arbitrary locations in iCloud, which helps me stay organized. However, it cannot open the documents it creates. I’m going to type that again because it may not be easy to comprehend. This app can make markdown files. It can preview those documents. Once you’ve saved that document, this app will not let you change it (apparently ever again). If I create a document in another app as a “.txt” file and save it to iCloud, then Markdown Pro can edit the file. It can even open and close the same file numerous times, like magic. But that magic doesn’t work for documents created by this app.

Good app...needs a couple of features

I’ll second the request for a find/replace function. In addition, I’d like to request the preview scroll along with the edit view, and vice-versa. It’s frustrating to try to find your place in the second view. Otherwise, a very good effort at a markdown editor.

Great app, a couple of requests

This app does just what I wanted. Simple editing of .md files, saved as actual files. LaTeX support is also really useful. A couple of suggestions: - The markdown keyboard symbols are very large and take away a lot of screen space when editing, esp. in landscape mode. Any chance of being able to turn this off, or make the extra keyboard smaller (eg same size as regular iPad keys)? - Is there a find/replace function? If not, I think it would be a useful addition. Thanks!

Exactly the app I needed/wanted

This is a perfect Markdown App for me, providing fantastic, rapid previews, and most importantly, excellent LaTeX integration. Thank you! It’s been a dream to be able to write Markdown (my blog is markdown based) on an iPad, so much easier than pulling out a laptop now that I have this app. Only thing I could see as an improvement would be ability to add images.
