Boldly designed, each issue of Canada's History is a treasure of Canadian stories waiting to be discovered - a mix of engaging features, columns, reviews and commentary plus historic photos, maps and illustrations.
Some of what you encounter in our pages will inevitably be about people, places and events that you think you already know: In our pages, those stories will come alive for you like never before – rich with new details, deeper context and fresh relevance. But much of what you discover in Canada’s History will be new to you: Stories of crime and courage, genius and cunning, triumph and disaster... of determined women and desperate men, teetotalers and tavern-keepers, inventors and explorers ... of spies, pirates, scoundrels – and heroes!
You’ll hear a lively variety of voices, with contributors that include historians, authors and
journalists – as well as museum curators and history enthusiasts – from right across the country – contributors such as Charlotte Gray, Tim Cook, Christopher Moore, Jack Granatstein, plus many more!

Paid-for application downloads include one issue of the user’s choice.
Further future issues and back issues can be purchased within the app.
Subscriptions are also available within the application. A subscription will start from the next released issue.
Available subscriptions are:
12 months: £16.49/ US$21.99 (6 Issues)*
Back Issue Bundle: £10.99 / US$14.99 (4 issues)
*This subscription has a free trial period of 30 days. At the end of the 30 days the full price of the subscription will be charged.
-You may cancel a subscription during its free trial period via the subscription settings on your iTunes account. This must be done 24 hours before the end of the subscription period to avoid being charged.
-The subscription will renew automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current period, you will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, for the same duration and at the current subscription rate for the product.
-You may turn off the auto-renewal of subscriptions through your Account Settings, however you are not able to cancel the current subscription during its active period.
-Payment will charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when a subscription to that publication is purchased
Bundles of single issues can be also be bought within the application. To use purchased credits, simply click on the issue price and select ‘use credit’. This allows you to purchase back issues at reduced prices.

Users can register for/ login to a pocketmags account in-app. This will protect their issues in the case of a lost device and allow browsing of purchases on multiple platforms. Existing pocketmags users can retrieve their purchases by logging into their account.
We recommend loading the app for the first time in a wi-fi area so that all issue data is retrieved.
If your app will not load past the splash page after a first install or an update please delete and reinstall the app from the App Store

Great Magazine, but not for iPad

I have been subscribing to Canada’s History and The Beaver before that for many years. I was delighted to see there is an app, but it will not rotate to landscape view on my iPad. I would rather not read it on my phone. Any chance this could be fixed soon?

I love this magazine. The articles are fascinating and well written. I have learned so much about Canada through this magazine.

Used to subscribe through Zinio and the subscription was migrated over to this app (not my choice). Not a good first impression given the full issue will not download.
