Classic Words (solo word game)

Passes many an hour away and keeps your brain cells ticking over.I am 76 and enjoy doing them each night before I go to bed . It takes your mind off a busy day or takes away your pains and worries that has been bothering you throughout the day. X

If you are happy to play against a computer opponent then this is a terrific version of scrabble. There are several difficulty levels, so everyone can have a satisfying game. Also, the ads are not annoying. You get one at the end of each game, but you can dismiss them instantly. There is a bar running ads throughout each game, but it’s at the very top of the screen and I don’t find it distracting. I find this a much better way of including ads. I’ve had to stop playing some games I downloaded because there were so many ads that they took all the enjoyment out of the game. That isn’t the case here. I am perfectly happy to play against the computer, but I do think this game would have a wider appeal if the developer were to include a pass and play feature, and let people play against each other online.

I gave 3 stars as the game works fine and I’m quite enjoying it. Thank-you. Compared to other versions, the end of the game can come as a surprise because you can’t see how many tiles are left or if your opponent has almost finished their tiles. This could be an improvement. Also at the end of the game there is an option to look back at the board. After doing that, there is no back function and I’m not sure if I use the ‘quit’ option after finishing, then might it delete my win stats?

A good way to relax

I downloaded this game when I got my first iPad. It’s been my favourite ever since. No annoying ads, no problems during play, really good levels, no rush, good dictionary. Thank you!

Apart from occasionally losing a letter when returning to a paused game, and denying an independently verifiable and allowable English word, this is a great scrabble clone. Fun to score over 500 regularly and over 600 occasionally, sharpening the skills you don’t have time for, when playing a human.

Always a pleasure, variable levels and smooth play. This solo game allows you to challenge your mind on a daily basis without too many ads… although I’ve recently started to receive a few… and there’s a great array of words you can attempt to create and the computer lets you know if they are scoring. I can then learn new words and combinations for future games. Great fun!!! Thanks!!!

The game is great but the current advertising campaign is not.

Now full of adds that you cannot delete…a great game now unplayable.
