Clean Car Club

This App needs deleting from the App Store it’s an absolute joke. I concur — coded by a 5 year old, designed in the 80s. None of the functionality works, you can’t register efficiently. Avoid like the plague, get some exercise washing your car yourself…

As usual, the world of apps and harvesting data means a worse customer experience. Wish no option to pay at machine, and the app never allowing you to select a wash or present a code means you won’t be wanting to use this. Ever. Save your time and go to a hand car wash. For 8.50 can get a better more thorough clean elsewhere.

Was surprised to find that my local Tesco had replaced their ten year old Carwash with a brand new one this evening. Was less surprised and not impressed when I found that unlike the old one which either used a code from the kiosk or you could select a wash on the machine itself and pay via contactless, this new carwash doesn’t have that and the only option is “Scan QR” code. Upon scanning the code it takes you to this app, in the app it showed the car wash as “Out of service”. I went to one about 1.5 miles down the road shown in the app as “Quiet” but available. Upon arrival the car wash was nothing like the one at the other location, with automated garage door style shutters at the entrance and exit and this car wash only accepted a code from which you’d get at the kiosk, no contactless payment and no way of using this app at that site (Sainsbury’s). So of the two car washes I went to, one was shown as out of service, despite there being green flashing entrance arrows on the car wash itself, and the other doesn’t support any form of contactless or app payment and you can only use that car wash by going into the shop and buying a code… Other than being a map to show the nearest carwash available it doesn’t seem that great so far…

The only good thing was the automated system did pick up something went wrong on the payment and refunded me which I found out 60 minutes later by looking at my bank. Here comes the bad Paid for the car wash after 10 minutes of faffing around scanning qr codes and it sending me around in circles. The application it’s self looks like it was designed by a 5 year old, clearly rushed out and made in a week it. Feels like a school high school project except it was made on the due date of their assignment. After 10 minutes of faffing around payment was taken from my card and the car was refused to start. There was no errors or reasons why this was the case. The contact us was a generic default web page which looks like it was made in 2012. Which didn’t provide any useful information. If you are going to roll this out to the UK or other parts of the world this is a really bad first impression. Not going back to the car wash until this application is fixed and actually designed properly with UX in mind.

Makes everything easier, cheaper and keeps track of every wash. I can see the car washes nearest to me and which are less busy.

Too many steps, unnecessary need for QR code, and buggy. So much slower than paying at the counter!

Wasted ten minutes trying to register and log in. Not even the ‘forgotten password’ option is not working.
