Clicks Keyboard

Keyboard feels excellent. Keys are nicely spaced apart. Definitely reminds me of the BlackBerry keyboards I grew to love. I’m using mine on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Yes it makes a big phone even bigger, but after a couple of weeks using it I find I don’t mind it anymore. I simply love this keyboard as I detested the onscreen versions. If Apple would make a fully powered standard iPhone equal in power and features to the pro series, and coupled with the Clicks keyboard, that would be close to perfection.

This review only covers the app, not the keyboard. The app is pretty clunky and it seems a lot of buttons either don’t respond the first time or take a few seconds to give feedback. The update firmware immediately shows “Firmware Failed” when you click on it, giving me great confidence the app will actually update my keyboard when the time comes. There’s also a lot of broken English in the app too. Things like “Your’ve closed the app” and “update is failed” have me questioning how much time was put into this app. Overall a mediocre experience for such an expensive keyboard.

Unusable on my iPhone 16 pro as there is a delay in typing such that you need to hold each key for about 1/2 to 1 second before it registers. Returning, unfortunately.

The newest Firmware update bricked my Clicks keyboard for the 14 Pro Max model. They sent a replacement and the update produced the exact same result. Current owner of two useless Clicks products and customer service hasn’t responded to me in 7 days. Guess they decided to go FULL Blackberry experience.

Don’t understand why options are grayed out.

I believe it would be fantastic if you could incorporate sound effects when typing on the keyboard. I recall that in the past, all the old phones had a sound or vibration when pressing the keys. It would be amazing if they could replicate that feature in this keyboard as well. Additionally, if you could add touch sensitivity to the keyboard, it would be convenient to scroll through the content directly from the keyboard instead of the screen. I believe that one of the last BlackBerry phones had this option.

I’ve had the keyboard for a month now and i absolutely love it, i wish the app would help you better understand shortcuts though.

The timeout time is too short and needs an option to keep on all the time

I have 14 Pro version, and have been super happy with it. I do get irritated that the app doesn’t enable “soft return” on my device (the option is greyed out), but that is a minor quibble considering everything else.

Your app should inform users to turn on full keyboard access in settings accessibility keyboards. I stopped using the keyboard because the feel of the keyboard is pretty lousy — especially given how expensive. For a product that sells itself as having a fantastic keyboard, this is nowhere near as good as a blackberry keyboard. Really disappointed.
