Cook4Me by Tefal

Overall the app is easy to use to browse through recipes and send to the cooker to cook. However, there are some drawbacks: the cooker can only be linked to one Tefal account, so other people in the same house hold has to log on to that Tefal account. The account itself is clearly missing a few elements in the setting: log off / change password / change user details / change product / disconnect product. So when another person in the household downloaded the app, they can’t log in with my account as the forgot password link doesn’t work and no reset link was emailed to me.

Not pairing with iphone 11 latest ios update. Please do something it is ridiculous. Unhappy customer here.

Had this for just 2 weeks and every recipe we have tried so far are quick and easy and taste really nice

So I bought my Tefal Cook4Me from Argos, little did I know it was only a + and not the Connect. My fault I admit, I should have researched it, but after having seen it at my cousin’s house I bought one not realising there were two versions, one with the bluetooth connectivity and one without. After having tried the + and realising what I am missing out on by not having the Connect the question arose, what is the point of the Cook4Me +? Let me explain. For £100 extra I would have bought one with the bluetooth connectivity except very few retailers carry that model in the UK. Without it the machine is just a faffy pressure cooker and the app is simply unavailable. So far it cooked everything beautifully, don’t get me wrong. Tender beef brisket, chicken a la Basquese etc. But I am unable to use the recipe book function of the app without pairing the cooker via bluetooth. The app refuses to download the recipe packs unless the app is paired with a cooker. It is quite frustrating and I still paid £199 for it. Even though I cannot connect directly to the app I find it would be still helpful and extend my options. The in-built recipe book on the C4M + is cumbersome, no pictures, you have to click and dial around a lot, choose one you might like the name of, for how many people you intend to cook and then you can check the ingredient list and decide whether you really fancy it or not, I suppose you need to copy the list with pen and paper or take a photo of it with your phone, as opposed to the Connect’s recipe options via the app with photos, favourite option, save option, folders option etc., so it is rather clumsy and thus pretty pointless. I cannot see myself browsing through the menu options of the meal names one by one to see what they might taste like based on the ingredients list. Really disappointing. Recipes should be available in the app for Cook4Me + users, too. In fact, I feel like the + is a design afterthought, the poor relation of the main attraction, the Connect. Yet the Connect is not that widely available in the UK and from the Argos website it was not made clear that without the bluetooth connectivity don’t expect too much. I checked the Tefal website and there are more recipes there which I will screenshot and take advantage of that way. I could have just bought a standard pressure cooker I suppose, it would have taken up less space in my small kitchen and would not need to mess about with the dial and program settings for every step sep

The gadget is brilliant, but the app is weak. I’ll not use the app for a few weeks, only to find it’s logged me out again. It creates a password entry in keychain with the entry “group SEB” (which you’ll never remember as all it mentions if Tefal and Krups so you’ll not find it while searching) and doesn’t auto populate, so I always have to password reset. I try and do something I’ll remember, but that’s not secure enough apparently. It’s an app to tell you how much water to put in my risotto, not keeping the secrets of MI5, get a grip. I shouldn’t have to login at all or if I do, it should stay logged in forever.

Great variety, easy to follow and saved me loads of money buying food at work. Batch cook and freeze then just eat when I want. Although seem to have lost the ability to change number of people you’re cooking for on some of my regular recipes.

While this was never the best app ever - it was ok and reasonably useful - but the latest incarnation seems to have removed the ability to choose the number of people the recipe is for in many cases !! Ok - it’s not rocket science to double or triple quantities - but what about timings?? I just don’t understand why anyone would somehow ‘delete’ this really useful function. Stupid really.

Could not find the recipe on the cook for me

Just come to use the app & some of my favourites are missing so please fix this, otherwise it would be a 5 star review as I love this machine.

I’ve been using this app for over two years now. I love how they’ve been adding more and more recipes, but I opened the app today to Cooke one of my favourites to find it’s gone! I can’t find the recipe manually or by searching. I had it saved to a private list with five other recipes. Three of them have disappeared from that list. Please fix this!
