I’ve used this app many times, but on my last attempt, I’d been logged out. I have tried to use the password reset, but it says my phone number isn’t associated with any account, if I try to create a new account it says my phone number is already in use 🤔
Ordered a taxi, holding fee £14.50 for 10 min drive. Already outrageous. After 20 mins, no taxi accepted my ride so I cancelled. 5 working days have passed and I still have not received back my money
Second time ordering from Crossleys. Paid on the app to be told in the car ‘it hasn’t gone through. We had no cash (because we expected to be able to pay card) so the driver took us to a cash point. He kept the meter on so this took us to about £9 for a 5 minute trip. Avoid. Much better taxi ranks in Halifax.
Always more expensive on the app by approx £3 to £4 better to use cash
Your card is debited with more than what the meter shows. My journey was £4.90 as per the metre and they debited £6.55! Even the taxi driver recommended that I check what had been debited which doesn’t bode well!!!
Nothing wrong with the service crossleys provide - taxis are usually timely and efficient. However, when using the app, I’m not entirely sure some of the debits out of my account tally up. I understand the need to take a holding fee slightly more than the average amount the journey should take - no problems with that - but the refunds after - I’m not sure it adds up. It would be much better if it was more transparent like Uber for example. If a holding fee of say £6 is taken but the fare is only £4, then £2 should be refunded there and then along with a receipt. For example I’ll often get a series of re-debits not knowing which journey they are for - and the completed journeys option on the app doesn’t tell you. For various reasons I’ve had to get 8 cans over the least 2 days - around £70 has been taken, yet only a very small portion has been credited.
Always reliable wouldn’t use other firm Crossleys always provide a quality service
I’ll never use Crossleys again after the service I’ve received using this app. I’ve used Crossleys for years but won’t be doing again. It takes £15 from your account every time you use it, and takes up to 72 hours to go back in. Let’s you book a car, takes the £15 from your account and then cancels your booking with no reason why. Only to be told when ringing the office that you need to book a local taxi (I was still in Halifax) and that it wasn’t their problem £15 had been taken from my account he ‘just works there’. Stranded with no money to get home now. Absolutely diabolical
Password reset has been down for about 2 months now - doesn’t send an email as it should to reset password, and therefore I’ve been unable to use which is frustrating as I was using regularly.
