Cryptogram Tale

I love this app, in some strange way it made me reading more :) Also it helps improving sense of English. The only thing is, it consumes quite much of battery charge, even after I bought no-ads and turned off all sound and music settings.

A really excellent game concept. Slowly over time, you get better at figuring out which words will follow which. Ive even started to recognise the writing styles of certain authors. My only gripe is that, probably for copyright reasons, the majority of these stories are by the same handful of male Victorian writers presenting some quite outdated thinking. I’d love to see some more modern texts or be able to choose the title before I commit my time to yet another H. G. Wells short story. That said, in the majority of cases, this app has had me reading texts I’m truly grateful to have been introduced to and I feel cleverer for it!

What a fun, addictive and challenging game - great and unpredictable stories too. Every turn I’m stopped in my tracks and struggle to see how I can make any progress - but the moment when inspiration takes over and you start to crack the code is awesome. Love it.

Maybe I’m just not that smart but I can’t make head nor tail of this game! The difficulty doesn’t change at all when I go from easy to hard, there are absolutely no prefacing texts to help you out (as shown in the app store photos), and there seems to be no theme to the letters whatsoever? It just makes nonsense words even with hints.

Very addictive, always curious to read the next part of the story! Quite clever.

Great game

What a lovely game. It fills in all the letters that are guessed. Shows when you have used a letter already and has interesting story line.
