What happened to your servers?? 🤨
So, see, even with my playing around with technical jargon I’m not too knowledgeable about, the problem itself still seems to be obvious. (I’m using the word ‘servers’ here because obviously the app doesn’t work completely on its own locally on the iPhone and communicates via ‘cloud computing to obtain its niche of social media data ~) Anyway, to the point: You know, the premise of the app itself is pretty nice! As a guy with hearing loss myself, I can see how this reendition of the meetup app, but suited for those with hearing loss, can be really awesome as it could potentially enable those in a similar situation as mine to basically shatter the sense of isolation that had surrounded them for perhaps years. But, here’s the snag… It does make me wonder, though, like really - as the title says, just what happened to your servers?? (and by the looks of from those other reviews that had been posted complaining about the same thing, this snag of where the app gets stuck on ‘loading’ had been around from like ~1 year ago, (indicated by me not getting a text message to verify my phone #, I admit I haven’t tried other signup methods but still!) and to this day the problem apparently haven’t been fixed… it made me think, do the aforementioned servers still even exist?? Stuff like this makes me think a bit on how important and invisible (to the user) the developer maintaining critical IT networks and the infrastructure, is! Kinda a shame this app’s backend bits are probably a dud - I’m actually wondering how this app still is available to be downloaded on the App Store after all! (Afterthought: Maybe Big Boy Apple itself could launch its own social media platform, with all these trillions it has just for the lulz. It’d be pretty interesting to see how it goes…)
