Ok - but could be modernized
The contents of the app is great, Duden is after all the standard of German dictionaries. Also the possibility to listen to the pronunciation on of many words is helpful. The app itself should be improved: A) It’s does not make much sense to have the different Duden dictionaries separate within the app. That represents the legacy logic from when you buy separately the paper back books. The app user wants to see all info available for the searched word in one go, not to see one by one what each book has to say about the word. Since these different books in the app are sold separately (in app purchases), the app could just display results from the books the user has bought a license to. I.e. one search and the result is as complete as the paid licenses allow. B) It’s nice that the app allows indicating favorite words, but.. The favorites are not synched anywhere, e.g. iCloud. It means that if you made quite some effort in marking your favorites, they will all be lost the day you change your iPad. And of course the favorites are not synched to the iPhone or Mac. I understand that they sell the Mac license separately from the iOS one, but if someone then buys the Mac license, it would be nice to have the same saved favorites available as you have on your iPad. Technically iCloud syncing should not be a problem anymore, it is more of a business decision from the app developer. C) Speed and screen optimization . The app takes quite some time to launch and the screen is still not optimized for the newest iPhone. I.e. the app fills only partly the screen of the iPhone XS.
