Elfster: The Secret Santa App

Elfster has been used by our family for several years to run a Secret Santa for adults. It takes a little getting used to , to access all the facilities. We do not use the advertised products we add our own. You have to go to the tiny writing to do this, as it is geared to buying products advertised. You can organise people who find it too difficult by managing them yourself. E.g. I manage it for my elderly mother. The benefit is that you can buy one good present for somebody from their list so it is something they want, but it still is a surprise if they put several things for you to choose from. It also reduces the cost of Christmas and your money is not wasted. Sometimes there are glitches but we have never had a problem with exchanging presents and it saves everyone a lot of time and trouble. Thank you Elfster!🎅🏼🤶👍

My daughter set up a secret santa exchange a month or so ago which I participated in but now there’s nothing here!!!

Makes organising a Secret Santa fun, but only if everyone participates by making a wish list. The wish list is restricted to Amazon products only unless you specify in writing what you want. Would be better if you could upload other items from other stores.

It’s really not very clear how to add a wish to your list, even after reading the help instructions. It wouldn’t recognised that I’d pasted a link into where it actually says to paste the link - so I had to paste the link in the description. The whole website is clunky and in-intuitive. Like most people, I constantly use websites and this is by far the most frustrating, buggy, unintuitive website I’ve used since I can remember. How someone who isn’t particularly good at navigating websites will use it I honestly don’t know. This website makes a simple task challenging and doesn’t even work on the single most important thing - pasting a wish! Sorry guys, this is an awful website. I’ve just downloaded the app to see if that’s better - sadly it’s not. I received an email telling me that I’d received a question - the question doesn’t appear in the app - why not??? Awful! It really isn’t clear how to find the person I’m supposed to be buying for - turns out you have to tap exchange then go into the secret Santa - fair enough but it’s just not clear!!?? I just want to do two things - add my own gift requests and look at the gifts I can buy for my secret Santa - it’s so complicated and unclear how to do these simple things. I’m not hugely familiar with secret Santa - as will a lot of other people be - it needs to be clear and simple - and work! The website still won’t let me paste a gift from Amazon in the link field - after allowing me to do one previously - you’ve had years to get this right guys, come on!!

This is a very easy app to use, I especially love the anonymous Q&A, that’s a great idea incase you don’t know your secret Santa that well.

Just a thing: I need to be able to change date format from American to the more common dd/mm/yyyy

I love it has the best presents anything you could wish for but when you don’t go on it for a couple of months it logs you off it’s very annoying but overall I really love it but because logging out I gave it 4 stars

your email links take you to a webpage where the links don’t worry to accept the exchange and it won’t sync with them app - would be so much easier if I could just use the app for it, but it doesn’t register any invites. annoying
