ESPN Chicago

When trying to view shows it’ll randomly say: There is no content available for this section. Please fix this. Some shows work, some don’t.

Let me preface this by saying I love ESPN Chicago and all the personalities and content. For the app while there are other updates that could be done, for whatever reason it just starts playing the live feed out of nowhere. Not using my phone or anything, just starts play the live stream. I actually have to delete this app to prevent it from doing that at any time of day. Not ideal at all for work, church, movies, during sleep, etc for when it just starts. Never had any other app do this ever. I have used this app for some time but this problem only started for me this year so it has to be from a semi-recent update. Please fix this as it’s a solid app otherwise. Otherwise I have to add and delete all the time.

The app keeps opening and playing on its own, I’m constantly having to force close.

ESPN 1000 programming is great. The app over the past few years has been pretty good but with some buffering on the live shows. The latest version doesn’t auto start the live feed when I open the app. Even worse, the app has been opening and automatically playing the live feed at random times when I’m not even touching my phone. That’s a real issue when I’m on a work call or am trying to sleep in the middle of the night. The other issue last year was that sometimes I could listen to the White Sox live broadcasts, other times I couldn’t. Then there were cases where I could listen to several innings, the app would glitch and then when I would rejoin the broadcast, I would receive a message that I can’t listen to the live stream of the game. That was immediately after I was already listening to it. Fix it!

Enjoy the live listen function so I can listen to local Chicago flavor of sports talk no matter where I am in the country. Make more episodes available from past shows.

Tried old episodes, live broadcast nothing works. Fix your app

Constantly have to restart the app for live radio when trying to resume after a phone call. It also never saves your spot for podcasts. Best to listen to podcasts on iTunes where it saves your place and allows you to roll into the next podcast without having to touch it. I only use it for live radio to avoid the commercials of TuneIn Radio but annoying to have to keep restarting.

I turn on ESPN 1000 in my car, and it’s the White Sox game playing. I turn it on in the app, and it’s some completely different show talking about basketball. It makes no sense…

App constantly buffers to the point that it makes the programming unbearable. App has to be restarted every time to continue listening. I love ESPN 1000 Personalities but you’re better off watching it on twitch.

Not dependable to consume great Chicago sports radio content.
