I love this app for preparing to give discourses or lectures. When I want to drill down on a point, sometimes it’s beneficial to use a root meaning of where the word came from. By far one of the best tools I’ve stumbled across for reference and research.

This is my go-to place for etymology. Very helpful and mostly thorough. It’s a great resource.

Simple, quick, and educational. This app has taught me why I don’t want to be “nice.”

No real student of words goes very long without wondering, “Where does that word come from?” and the answer is always illuminating. In those moments, I turn to etymonline, and when I do, I’m reminded why I subscribe — there’s nothing else like it!

My job involved arranging words, I have always loved word history. I’ve been using Etymology Online for a long time, well before the app came out. The site has given me hours of enjoyment; the app just makes it easier to use the resource.

I have not looked up a word that I did not find - which has been the case with some dictionary apps. I mostly use this for words in the KJV Bible, to help get a better understanding of a word, and this app is great for that. It also keeps a history of the words I have searched.

This is my favorite app.
