Well done, while somewhat humbling
Having enjoyed many of the boxed “EXIT The game” games, I was pleasantly surprised to find an IOS game within the brand. It did not take long for me to become humbled while playing the game. While the puzzles vary in difficulty, the toughest ones can be very difficult. (Somehow, I stumbled past the “Skulls” puzzle, and I still don’t how I did it, I don’t think I could repeat it). Fortunately, there is a built in hint system that does not require an in-app purchase (aside: I much prefer this model as I would rather pay more upfront versus being nickled and dimed every time I get stuck in a game). The hint system is similar to the boxed games where the first hint just tells you if you have everything you need to solve the puzzle, the 2nd hint nudges you in the right direction, and the 3rd hint pretty much gives you the solution. The game flows well, the graphics are nicely rendered, and given the difficulty of some of the puzzles, you get your money’s worth in game play. I did have to resort to level 2 hints a few times, and for the most part the solutions make sense ---- however, there were one or two that I really wonder how you could be expected to arrive at the solution. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and highly recommend it with a caveat of “don’t expect a cake walk”. I’ve played the prior EXIT the game IOS game (The Curse of Ophir) which I enjoyed, but I found the Trial Of the Griffin to be the better one of the two. I just wish they could crank these games out faster.
