I so want to love this, but the quality of the stream is dreadful. I bought the Miriam Margolyes interview, which was brilliant, but the camerawork and sound just isn’t good enough for the price. Shame.
This is awful. I downloaded it today to watch a live streaming event. It didn’t start until a few minutes into the event itself so we missed the start. And then the sound was so quiet we could barely hear anything even though the volume was on full. And at the interval the event went ‘off air’ and we waited for it to restart but it never did. We were watching on a laptop so I tried logging in again using a tablet only to find the event had restarted and was nearly over. What sort of experience is that? I give this no stars but I had to give one because it won’t accept zero stars.
Bought the Judy Dench evening, both the Apple TV and iPad apps suffer from very low sound even at max setting, won’t be using Fane again.
An app that features an error message function on the set-up page should indicate where the error stems from. I tried to set up my account, and the app kept telling me to ‘try again’. Nothing I tried fixed the issue, and the help pages were no help. I presume that my password was the problem. But there is no indication what the password needs to contain, whether there’s a minimum number of digits, etc. So all I could do was leave it.
Very much enjoyed the Jay Rayner session - lively, interesting and genuinely interactive. An excellent live experience. This encouraged me to sign up for the Keith Brymer Jones interview. Oh dear. A prerecorded interview featuring the splendid KBJ talking to a ‘friend’. A rambling and sometimes tedious chat that delivered very little I’m afraid. A missed opportunity.
