Love the service, but not this app. I agree with a previous review that some additional basic video controls would be beneficial - as of right now you’re getting the bare minimum. There is a much more glaring issue with the app however. The tab bar stays on the screen the entire length of the film as opposed to disappearing with the video controls like it does on other video apps. This is a really distracting eyesore. You can avoid this by going directly to the website to watch your purchased content.
Great App
This app plays videos well, but it desperately needs rewind and fast forward buttons.
I want a refund
But absolutely nowhere to contact- is that legal?
No way of contacting them and now I’m stuck with a movie without subtitles
Goodbye Alamo
Decent app but needs a little work
Please add a 10 second rewind/fast forward button, the same way you have on the website browser version.
Great, Unique Content For Cinephiles
Leave it to Alamo to curate exclusive and unique content that you can’t really get on any other platform. Love it, thank you Alamo On Demand!
Chromecast Support?
Purchased a movie on the website. Opened the app to play it, hoping to Chromecast to my TV, but doesn’t appear to have support for that? Disappointed.
Love you Alamo, but not this
You broke the cardinal rule of releasing an app by not making this an intuitive process to use and seek out your content.
As someone who as overseen large app launches to the App Store myself, the decision to go this route to seek out your content is mind boggling whoever approved this. An app is supposed to be pickup and quickly use CONVENIENCE! An app should never require the user to leave your app experience to go use a website, regardless of the politics behind the decision, this 👏 is 👏 a 👏 bad 👏 user experience.
Do better! As a cinephile I love what your company stands for and the experience you offer. Capture that essence in your app. If you are going to get into the streaming service game lean into it all in and don’t half-ass this.
Support your local Alamo
As a responsible movie gawker , I feel it’s my responsibility to help ensure the Alamo Drafthouse can exist in a post COVID world.
I always figure a portion of all app reveiws are shills for the developer or company , I am not...I am just a wide eyed , popcorn guzzling customer , who supports my local Alamo
Empty Library
I just downloaded this app on Apple TV, excited to get started browsing Alamo’s library of content, only to realize that the app is *ONLY* a player.... you have to actually browse and purchase content on their website.
I’m sure Alamo did this to circumvent Apple’s fees for in-app purchases, but this means that I’ll never casually look for new content, and if content is not discoverable, I’ll never click Purchase.
Uninstalled immediately.
