Идея приложения замечательная. Есть ограниченный, но достаточный набор инструментов, что позволяет не сидеть часами напролет, бездумно вращая ручки, а сосредоточиться на создании музыки. Но приложение очень сырое. Я активно использовала автоматизацию и столкнула ь с большим количеством багов в ней. Если кратко, то я настроила автоматизацию одним образом, а она в итоге при воспроизведении ведет себя совсем иначе. Помимо просто некорректной работы меня еще расстроила невозможность работы над одним проектом одновременно на двух устройствах с помощью облака. В смысле, чтобы можно было начать писать на телефоне, а продолжить на планшете, а потом обратно на телефоне. На текущий момент это можно сделать только с помощью постоянного перекидывания файла проекта. Из-за этого плодятся копии - неудобно. Ну и по мелочи - элементы интерфейса имеют зазубренные пиксельные края. Еще хотелось бы иметь возможность введения нот не через пиано ролл, а через 16-шаговый секвенсор как в pocket operator.

Took a break to fiddle around with Flip and was dissapointed: - I could not record my external synth, which is mono, to both, left and right channels, - I could not monitor my recording, - There is no way to record other apps via AUM or Audiobus either. Hope these features will be added soon.

I'm not a producer by any means, but just fiddling with this thing while commuting in a metro is so much fun! Thank you, Andrew!

So I use splice and pick a different samples, arrange it in some project and save. Than when I return my samples got repitched and time stretched. And I didn’t ask for this. I tried to delete and replace them from my device but I can’t, because app sad me it’s already imported even if deleted...((( So I found two bugs with 20 min of work. Fix plz.

Amazing app, thanks to Andrew and his team for bringing it out! Love the mastering layer, really helps to tune my tunes Couple suggestions: ability to have more than 9 tracks, clearing automation is not intuitive, in fact I could not find how to do it, ability to put samples in a separate folder in samples browser and import them from a zip file containing wavs. Moreover, I would like tape recorder to continue recording after I hit stop, not tape stop in order to record cool tape breaks using performance layer. Also I found an issue that my project got completely messed up: each sample went to its starting settings, project tempo got messed up as well. It happened after an app crashed. I understand that launching an app without bugs is impossible so good luck for developers! Love it. It‘s like Koala and Auxy had a baby

Flip can definitely be used to make some great beats. It’s logically laid out, intuitive to learn, generally fun to use, and can do a lot, despite being limited to 9 sample pads (unlike the multiple banks of 16 pads each on an app like the IMPC). The help function is very useful and well-implemented. I love this thing overall, and it’s easier to use than the IMPC, but it does have some areas where operation can be frustrating and could be improved. I don’t know how feasible it’d be to have separate mixer settings, FX settings and samples for each pattern within a program, but it’d be highly useful and much appreciated. I can live without that, though. Limitations can breed creativity. More importantly, I’ve found the multitrack tape recorder and stem export functions to be buggy—which is frustrating, because they’re also incredibly useful for getting the sequences into a DAW as a multitrack session…when they work right. My stem tracks have randomly come out incomplete and different lengths (or with no sound) for no apparent reason; then when I try again with the same settings, everything renders perfectly and with matching lengths. Nasty clipping distortion also happens much more easily on rendered tracks than is audible when listening in the mixer; I’ve often had to re-render stems several times in a row, with elements of the mix turned down more and more, before I could get a clean result. The app also seems to have crashed on me a couple times, but it’s constantly autosaving, which is a fantastic feature that helps make crashes much less frustrating. Despite the sometimes annoying drawbacks, this app is fantastic value and I’d recommend it. Just be aware that it’s seemingly not perfect. Hopefully the stuff I describe will be fixed (or it’s all just the result of me doing something wrong). The app’s definitely still fun and useful overall.

I want to love this app. Typically it’s a great tool for improvising & sketching out melodies & percussion ideas. But there’s unfortunately too much inconsistency & bugs with sample recording. Half the time it works great - I hit the record button & hum a note or make some sort of drum sound with my mouth & flip automatically find the starting point. But more often it seems to just be latching onto a bit of noise (according to the waveform) or sometimes the waveform looks correct, but it just won’t play back my recording at all. Not sure if this is just a problem for me or if it’s a common occurrence. Other than that bug it’s usually a great & fun app.
