Freedom from YouTube, Subscribe to floatplane on their site and screw Apple revenue cut.

As far as this app is 99% how i access Floatplane content, I like it being back on the AppStore. Hope for successful future updates, as stated at WAN show.

No sign ups from app, notifications frequently not delivered, cannot chat on streams, no AirPlay, and so many other issues. If you couldn’t care less about this platform, please by all means just point people to your web app rather than wasting your time developing this weird app.

But I really hate I can’t lock my phone or use a different app and just listen instead of watch.

It’s a great app but any video app really needs Picture in Picture mode and background play. As I see it as a extremely basic feature of a video service app my rating reflects such.

I'm really into the idea of Floatplane, but I've got to say, I'm a bit puzzled. Why can't you sign up right in the app when you first open it? It seems like a no-brainer to let people get started without having to jump over to a browser. Just a bit of an unnecessary hassle, you know? Anyway, I'm going to stick with it and see how things go—I'll keep you posted with an update on my review after I've used it for a while.

Would love to see a Picture in Picture mode, where I can watch videos while checking my email or whatever. But other than that great app!

This is a good app, but it’s held back by its lack of Picture in Picture support. I would love to be able to text a friend without interrupting WAN show.

I’ve used this app on both iOS and Android, and I have a couple of things to say. While I love supporting my favorite tech tip providers, the iOS app is lacking in many features that are already available on Android and Web. For one, where is my Picture in Picture?? I use Picture in Picture in YouTube all the time, but I absolutely hate not having it on iOS. This is absolutely something that can be implemented (as it’s already on the Android app and Web), and even works when I use the web version on IOS. I’d also like some of the search filtering and sorting features that you get on web on the app. Aside from those things, I find the UI feels a bit more akin to the android UI style (which doesn’t bother me a ton, I just wish that it looked a bit more continuous with the iOS design language). While I do love how easy this app is to use and how fast and snappy it is, I really am missing Picture in Picture. Hopefully this can get added soon.

Overall the UI is clean and the app is easy to use. It is a little rough around the edges but it’s functional. Just missing some key features like background playback.
