Mixed feelings
One of my favourite magazines of all time. But I am disappointed that the app doesn't allow offline reading. This is a serious oversight. I travel frequently and obviously can't read the issues on a plane! Guys, sort that out or you will certainly loose my digital subscription when it comes upfront renewal.
Troublesome download
Very inconsistent performance application wise. I managed to download only one issue after maybe 10 attempts, the download is slow and after 10 or more another attempts I gave up to read the second purchased issue. Wasted few bucks. Application performance is unlike any other digital magazines, like popular science. The magazine is good, only if you can download it!
Horrible app
Worthless app. No way to read offline (for those times when you would really like to read a magazine because the Wi-Fi is down on your 14-hour transpacific flight). There is also no way to restore a purchase once the app has decided that you’re no longer allowed to access your paid subscription. Removed app and canceled subscription.
New owner has ruined a once great publication
Long time subscriber. Enjoyed the hard copy version the most. The latest owner has reduced content and raised prices. I still decided to stay. I subscribed to the email version back in June 2023. I received one email link to one edition. That’s it. So I called in October and a recording stated to call back because the phone system was being updated. I emailed requesting a refund. No response. Summation of new owner: raise prices, cut content and ignore your subscribers when they contact you. I’m done. The end of a once great publication.
Cannot restore purchase using Apple account
I’m have tried for a year. No customer support ability. Will cancel subscription
Who would call these “improvements”
You limit the number of issues, the app won’t allow reading offline, you tout the new feel of better paper… seriously? These are things that would be fixed by the old subscription and owners. My subscription is cancelled and Plane and Pilot is the beneficiary.
(UPDATE) Frustrated subscriber cannot read my latest issue
There is no account management or ability to sign in and I cannot figure out how to read my flying mag digital edition. The application just seems to bloated with advertisements and impossible to use. I just want to be able to select library, select my issue and have a great reading experience. Update: The latest app fixes the ability to actually read. Your login is your customer ID. The reading experience is lack luster trying to get full screen. Also it crashes if you try to press the top right button (I thought that would expand the view) but crashes on all iOS devices.
New version!!
So much better. Now I can read back issues!!
Very disappointing changes … cancelled subscription
I’ve been a long time subscriber (and decades long reader) of Flying Magazine. The dramatic changes to the app were all for the worse. The readability of the content suffered and virtually every new “feature” of the app and interface detracted from the user experience - and the social media like format has compromised the benefits of longer form and more in depth content. I was hoping they would recognize that these changes are unwelcome and revise the app significantly, but I’ve seen no indication that’s going to happen and have reluctantly cancelled my subscription.
